Tiffany

Seeing what has happened so far this season, and the trailer for EP3. It seems to me that Telltale want to 'force' a partnership with her which I do not want.

  • Why don't you want it?

Though consider this, even if you have to recruit her, your Bruce can always have the option of disapproving. As we see in the episode 3 trailer he says "I don't need help from anybody."

  • I agree that the game shouldn't force you into making a partnership with her, especially if you lied to her at the funeral and screwed things up at the secret lab. It just wouldn't make much sense, especially if you don't want a partnership or are trying to protect her, and would be another example of the same exact thing happening in everyone's playthrough.

I love Tiffany though, can't wait for the reveal.

  • Well bruce does need someone to keep new tech coming in. I always thought it was a given once lucius died tiffany would take over.

  • I know it doesn't make much sense story-wise if things were left poorly with Tiffany for everyone to end up with the same relationship with her, but perhaps they have written scenarios that compliment everyone working with her. I doubt TellTale would make drastic differences in the results, but it would be interesting if whether Tiffany simply made devices for you or also became Batgirl depended on your relationship status with her. Still personally holding out hope of seeing Barbara Gordon become Batgirl ( I love Jim and Barbara ).

  • I hope we will be able to tell her it's her decision to embark on this journey. I don't want to come across as forcing her into doing this.

  • I agree. I'd rather not have a situation that forced her into it, nor do I honestly want to talk her into it. She's in an emotionally vulnerable space, and beyond simply a chance of being associated with Batman being deadly -- there are other aspects that are just as awful to experience such as what Alfred endured that one can live through... then have to live with just by being associated with Bruce Wayne. This is definitely something someone has to commit to of their own volition and preferably with a clear head.

I hope we will be able to tell her it's her decision to embark on this journey. I don't want to come across as forcing her into doing this.

  • I just want the opportunity to come clean to her, and not have her hate Bruce(me).

My guess is that Tiffany will have a conscience similar to her father's and want to help keep Gotham safe.

Well obviously you'll have to reveal to her that you're Batman, or at least involved with Batman, but let's just assume you reveal you're Batman to her. Right now Tiffany is upset because of her father's death and you hanging out with John and Harley. During my playthrough I lied to her because I didn't want her angry at me, and she says she'll reveal your secrets to the world if you tell the truth. During the Wayne Tech fiasco I told her I lied to protect her, called her family, and told Harley I was with them. So my Tiffany was left freaked out, but all of this was done to protect her until I'm able to reveal I'm Batman to her, which looks like it's what's happening next episode. Right now Tiffany is in the dark, and things Bruce purposely allowed her father to die. In reality, Bruce had no idea Riddler's signal acted as a missile homing beacon, Tiffany also has no idea he had to keep his cover around Harley and John. So my thinking is revealing your Batman will allow Tiffany to finally put all the pieces together, realize why Bruce lied to her and why he's chumming with psychopaths.

EDIT: Furthermore with Lucius dead Batman NEEDS someone to work on Bat-Tech, and Tiffany is the best candidate for the job. It would be pretty foolish for Bruce to not ask Tiffany for help at this point. No Tiffany = No Batman.

  • I'd say a good way around this -- for those who don't want to reveal or aren't in a position to do so -- would be to either approach Tiffany about help on gadgets as Bruce (while revealing that you are Batman) or go to her as Batman for help, leaving her in the dark about Bruce Wayne's involvement.

Well obviously you'll have to reveal to her that you're Batman, or at least involved with Batman, but let's just assume you reveal you're Ba

I didn't like Tiffany. She was way too emo. "I regret working Lucius so hard" (Bruce) "ITS YOUR FAULT HE DIED I HATE YOU" (Tiffany). It just didn't make any sense for her to suddenly turn on Bruce over that.

And just her interactions with him from beginning to end felt like bad writing to me, her behavior was just non-sensical the entire time. She acted way over-familiar with Bruce, considering he is one of the richest/most powerful people in the world and she had apparently had very little interactions with him growing up, not like they grew up together or something.

For example, think of her interactions with Bruce and then picture someone in her position having the same interactions with, say, Warren Buffet. You would think that person is borderline-psychotic, wouldn't you? Just sending a drone into his office unannounced on the first day of work and casually strolling in, like they owned the place... blowing up at Warren Buffet at her dad's funeral when he is trying to console her.... Accusing him of being the reason her dad is dead and implying threats against him... Acting super rebellious and confrontational when she sees him entering the R&D lab (I mean, imagine if you were hidden in a room and saw Warren Buffet walk in, doing shady stuff, followed by some mass murderers who are clearly with him. You would be shocked/terrified and basically act in whatever way would avoid drawing their attention to you, right? Not actively try to antagonize them like Tiffany did...)

I really wish they hadn't written her into the game. I wish they had kept Lucius alive, I liked him. I DON'T like her or feel any sympathy for her

  • Dude. It was her Father's funeral. Her actions should be nonsensical.

  • You have a point re Tiffany being emo. I feel like a LOT of characters behave this way in TT games... heck, in Life is Strange too. So it's not just TTG. I don't play much besides those and passed on the LiS prequel because of how much I hated Chloe.

I don't know just how well Tiffany knew Bruce in this world. Bruce can say that they are like family. She knows Alfred and Bruce can encourage her to visit him. Maybe the overly familiar behavior wasn't too terribly out of line. I kind of like thinking that Bruce had some connection to people besides those featured in season one.

It does bother me when characters over-react and say or do hurtful things. She jumps to conclusions way too fast; another annoying thing too many characters do.

On the other hand... those scenes where she was behaving irrationally were at her father's funeral and in a mysterious vault. Maybe cut her a little bit of slack. I expect contrition during their interactions in episode three. That's my hope anyway.

  • People can act quite irrational when a loved one dies, especially the way Lucius died. Being blown to bits by a signal seeking missile isn't exactly the same as going naturally or getting in a car accident. Plus it's heavily implied Bruce has known Tiffany for a while. Alfred even mentions that Lucius helped raise Bruce, so it's likely Lucius worked for Bruce's company when he was still quite young, which means Bruce would've interacted with Tiffany since she was a baby.

  • I will say that I did like Lucius better, and I do wish Telltale let him live a bit longer so we had more interactions with him prior to what occurred. Granted, right now that's based on the very limited interactions that we've had with Tiffany, and I agree with a strange first encounter. It was whimsical, and demonstrated her talents, but it also displayed a sense of entitlement to skip out of orientation where who knows how many of other people who interviewed and received a position were attending because her father was in good with Bruce Wayne.

We haven't had a great deal of interactions with her thus far. During the funeral, and following it in a hidden passageway in Wayne Tower... which everyone and their twitter followers seems able to find... wasn't capable of showcasing her in the best of light. Emotions and adrenaline were high. We've got a couple of episodes to go to see how things change, and who she settles into becoming.
