So I know most people here are more into Western adventure games (I am too) but Hideo Kojima's contributions to the genre have always been regarded as some of the best. Snatcher was great (if a bit too Blade Runner derivative) and Policenauts always languished in obscurity over here because of the language barrier.

Well Policenauts.net has released an English translation patch for the PS1 version of the game, and it's pretty epic. They did a really solid job of localizing this game to the English language with a hack that looks nice and even fixes a few bugs of the original. The game itself is quite excellent as well. It's more dialog heavy and less puzzle-intensive than a western adventure, of course, but it's really one of the best stories in the genre.

Anyway, check it out, adventure fans (You'll need to find a copy of the original game of course, but it can still be bought new from certain places).

    I'm guessing you'll need a modded PS1 to play this patched version though, right?

    Nah, since you have to rip it to an iso to patch it anyway, you can just play it in an emulator, either on the PC or on PSP. 'Tis no biggie. I guess TT probably doesn't want to get too into emulation talk on their boards (although it's not illegal) but there's some info in the patch's readme on different ways you can play this.
