YouTube, get your head in the game and fix this

MatPat points out in this video that there is an algorithm programmed into YouTube to give the videos with the most attention on social media the most promotion. Logan Paul has gotten MORE subscribers and daily views AFTER the suicide forest vid than BEFORE, which ultimately means he's earning more money. Is this YouTube's way of "punishing" someone? Seriously?

  • Big companies normally don’t know how to run their own business. There’s a trend of just going against what fans want

  • Not really, they made a statement that they will remove him from the list of the "favored YouTubers" and will cut his add revenue into a half, he also lost a lot of his 2018 project, so I feel kinda bad for the guy. I mean why did he post this stupid video, I don't get it. You have to have some sense of humanity inside of you and know that it is not okay to post this. I don't get it... He has such a big team behind him and no one caught that as unacceptable?

  • He’s always been a shitty person, even before the video, disrespecting cultures and all that, and I’m not talking about when he disrespected Japan, he’s also done the exact same thing in Italy with his brother, jumping into the Venice canals and just acting like an asshole in general, so nobody should feel bad for him cos this punishment was long overdue

  • Youtube's shit was jacked up since ages the only difference now is that it has reached its peak of retardation management. And as I remember this bitch lost some shit like the ad revenue stuff and his youtube red show....so yeah still something at least.

  • True. He is trying to be funny so hard that at the end it all collides into a big, big disaster. However, we all know that this will only double his audience, he received so much publicity that I doubt that it will harm his career in any way. I low key think that this was all planned, idk why

  • Well it isn’t impossible that it was all planned. This guy is obsessed with money, even in the suicide video next to the guy he flashes his merch. I doubt he even gives a crap about his reputation

  • It breaks my heart to see what horrible lengths people go to in order to get rich.

  • Yeah, me too. The dream of wealth can make people do terrible things.

  • Youtubes been a mess for a while. I still don't get their ad system, I thought I'd heard videos with profanity have ads pulled, because mature content can't be sponsored by alcoholic beverage ads. I don't think about why things on YouTube happen anymore.

  • It's a money-driven business! They don't care about the real and good content anymore, but for the stupid videos that get the most views. And it is so sad because the main audience YouTubers like Logan and Jake Paul are children, and you all know how easy is to brainwash children to do things or buy their merch or whatever they are selling. It is scary to think about how strong influence they actually have and how irresponsible they are using it!
The thing is that we all know what "stars" do to achieve more and more success in the entertainment business. This is why I was like "I feel kinda bad for the guy" But I guess he is the one who chose his path in life and he has to get his **** together and act accordingly.

Btw I saw a news article or some other source saying that there is a great chance of him not returning to YouTube, which will be interesting if really happens, but I don't genuinely believe in that. Who knows...
