Why does Until Dawn get so much praise?

I've played the game and found it pretty good. What I don't get is why the game gets so much praise for choices mattering. Its not like the story changes after you make a choice and there aren't that many choices anyway. The only thing that 'changes' are the deaths of the character. I keep seeing people saying that Until dawn is far better in choices mattering then the walking dead. But that isn't really a fair comparison because the walking dead is a lot more story driven. While until Dawn is a who is going to die simulator with a bit of story.

  • You're right there are games who deserves way more recognition like Alpha protocol for example about choices mattering. But you said it yourself its a "who is going to die simulator" nothing more.
