Han Solo adventure game!

edited August 2012 in General Chat
It's a fan game made on Scumm. Looks cool! I always wondered why Lucasarts never made an adventure game based on the original trilogy. KOTOR showed that an Star Wars adventure would be amazing.

Chieck pictures and a video in the creator's site

That's cool! And there is another SW adventure in production. It already has a tech-demo and it looks promising.

    Sweet.

...and Yoda Stories was a kind of adventure... : ) Or, at least, it was fun.

I really hope that Lucasarts DO allow this because it's lookin' awesome! A great idea, the final version should be very cool!

Heard about this on Kotaku. It certainly does sound awesome.

Some of the dialog choices in the video for this were some of the funniest, most original I've seen in a while. How can you not laugh at "Look behind you, it's the Goodyear blimp!"

I hope LucasArts has forgotten where they left their C&D cannon...

Actually AGS. But I'm sure it will contain a lot of scumm and villainy. (Yeah, I just discovered the creator of the game in question made the same joke, but let's pretend like he stole it from me, 'kay?)

Hopefully those alternate choices were coded just for the video. I draw the line at Han Solo referencing the Goodyear blimp. Would have been better (IMO) if it were "Look behind you, a three-headed womp rat."

    You are correct, sir! :D

I've seen that video posted all over the internet labeled as a trailer for the game, but the real story behind it is on this page: www.starwarsuncut.com (scroll about half way down and click on the Greedo thumbnail for my clip.)

The clip was more a stab at post-modern humor. It's true I used the graphics from my game, but that actual scene won't be in the game. And no out-of-place, earthbound references, scouts honor!

(And by that of course, I mean Biker Scout)...

Wait, do we have the actual maker of the game posting here? Awesome.

Interesting to see the Star Wars Uncut thread. I shudder at the thought of amateur 'actors' dressing up in homemade costumes and re-enacting their favourite scenes.

This is downright awesome. Been waiting for a Star Wars adventure game for ages.

I thought it was a great bit of random humor and it made me laugh quite a lot. Besides I think Star Wars needs to be taken lightly for once. People have gotten so uptight since the prequels.

Haha, yeah I think I was channeling Guybrush on that one. :D

I've never been a big Star Wars fan. I just watched part two of the original three all the way through last year, and I've watched bits and pieces of part one and part three. I've also only watched bits and pieces of the new three, and I've never played a Star Wars video game.

But, this looks like it could be a lot of fun, and it definitely looks like the kind of Star Wars game I could enjoy. This is definitely one Star Wars fan project that I will be keeping an eye on. :)

Like Star Wars fan films, this game is more appealing to me than the official ones.

My thoughts exactly. While LucasFILM doesn't seem to care about non-profit fan creations using their IP (like SW fan films; in fact, they encourage it), LucasARTS seems to get all bent out of shape over it. I remember an MI fan game that got a C&D from them several years back. It was called Fate of Monkey Island, and was an adventure where you play a monkey named Squinky.

Well, they are letting DOTT 2 to be made and Indiana Jones games BUT a while back there was a team making an adventure game version of Raiders of the Lost Ark and they pulled the plug on that one.:( I'd like to see an adventure game version of Raiders and TOD personally.

There's now a demo of the game available. It's looking good so far. :D

That was... amazing!!! It felt like an old-schoold adventure game but it also introduced lots of creative stuff! Like Han's "disiguise" :D

    Can't wait to play more!

Yeah, that was actually pretty good. Felt a bit empty with no sound effects, but it's a demo, whatever.
