Has anyone else just relized....

We've been playing and anticipiating Tales for arguably three months now and I just realized that I never really thought of the actual island being in tales until now. I never even considered it to be part of the actual story and I hope it stays that way. Does anyone think the island will be included? I don't want it to be cause it's a bit overplayed and a lot of the stories tend to go a little haywire when on those shores: Monkey Kombat, Monkey Robots, Carnivals, a talking monkey...you get the idea. Any thoughts?

    didnt the monkeys moved to melee island with the giant robot thingy in EfMI ? :| .. and i dont rembr seeing the canibals either in EfMI ..toothrot was also rescued :| i guess its deserted now .. but i dont wana go there .. it gives me the hee bee gee bees

    Alegro Rasputin is probably the only "living" creature still there. But maybe he moved too. Anyhow, I don't want to go to Monkey island and look at the Giant Monkey Hole™, the empty cannibal village and Herman's deserted shack.

    Ah, but all we need to see is the Monkey Head. After all, it can be a porthole to Hell, a roller coaster, AND the cockpit for a robot. Canonically speaking, a fourth unrelated and random use is totally plausible!

    Monkey Island would be a wasteland by now anyway! The monkey head is gone, the mines have been filled with lava, Herman is now Governor of Melee Island, Jojo is gone (as well as a lot of the other monkeys), the Cannibals I am sure would be dead by now due to lack of humans to eat and I assume the reverend at the church of LeChuck would've relocated to a new island due to low attendance! It's dead, Monkey Island (the island, not the game) is lifeless! All there is to do now is read some old memos that've been left around, fling rocks and maybe search for the three-headed monkey in the hope of having some company! I really don't wanna go back to Monkey Island unless Morgan and Winslow come with you, Jojo has mysteriously returned and the cannibals are still alive thanks to finding an alternative source of food (like bananas or monkeys).

    The cannibals seemed alive and well fed in CMI. They moved to Blood Island a while back you know.

    Maybe a post-apocalyptic Monkey Island... yeah! That would be cool!

    Or not... or just lame and sort of like everybody-did-that-before...

    Am I the only one who directly after Escape thought that LeChuck's giant head replaced the monkey head?
    That the explosion against all odds threw the statue in that direction, that is. : P

    I don't know what Guybrush could be doing there; it's gonna be odd having a Monkey Island game that doesn't tie in with the actual Monkey Island at all, but I can live with it.

    Maybe it's the LAIR OF THE LEVIATHAN!!!!

    I'm not really expecting another return trip to Monkey Island, but ya never know, might be nice... Wouldn't be disappointed if there wasn't.

    the only episode that i think monkey island will apear in is episode 5.
    monkey island cant apear in episode 3 because guybrush is in a giant manitee
    i don't think it is going to apear in episode 4 because the title is the trial and execution of guybrush threepwood, so i dont think monkey island will fit. mabey guybrush will be sentanced to exile on monkey island in the fifth episode

    I don't think they would do that because Guybrush has managed to get off the island four times before. I think that would be a very cheap way of putting the island in, it would seem very forced. I'd rather have the gallows.

    Well...I mean the name of the game IS Tales of Monkey Island, so it has to be included in the game, or otherwise name it something cool like Tales of Guybrush Threepwood.

    i don't know if you're actually going to play on monkey island, but it will be important somehow...since tales is finally going to reveal the true secret of monkey island.:D

    Monkey Island wasn't actually in MI2.... only in the beginning of CoMI we get to know that the carnival of the damned is actually on Monkey Island... but in MI2 you never get to know that.... so no actual Monkey Island in tales would be fine by me. EfMI kinda ruined the experience there.
