X Box beginner
I have just brought an Xbox one so I don’t have to play on my mobile for games. Thing is I am clueless about Xbox. There are just few questionable I need to ask.
Do I really need to pay per month for an Xbox account?
Can I play games without an Xbox account if I buy the games on disc?
I’ve downloaded Netflix on it. Again do I need an Xbox account to still watch that?
I won’t be playing with others online. I’ll only be playing telltale games (basically easy games)

It's been a while since I've used my Xbox so I might be a bit off in some areas, but I can try to help.
So, when you make a profile on Xbox, your save files/achievements/etc will be tied to your profile. (These are free to make and do not require an internet connection/etc.) You can keep your profile offline, or you can take your profile online. You are not required to make an online profile to play games or keep save files - this works with a free offline profile too.
If you make an online profile, Xbox has two tiers of online accounts. They have a paid "Gold" account where you have to pay to play online with other people in games, and they also have special perks like Gold discounts, etc. However, you can also make a free "Silver" account if you just want to access the online store and purchase games/DLC, message people, download online updates and patches to games, etc.
You used to need a "Gold" account to watch Netflix, but I think they updated it a while back so that now, you just need a free "Silver" account.
You should be fine with an offline profile, or a free online profile (without the ability to play online with others). As I said above, the free account still allows you to download games, updates, patches, DLC, etc - you just won't be able to play online.
