  • Storywise, i liked the 2013 better. and the final boss in ROTR is just unsatisfying.

  • imho 2013 Tomb raider is so much better, and i really don't like what they did in the sequel. Also where is Sam ? She was the only one who really cared about Lara and in the sequel Sam is only just mentioned one time ? Who cares about Jonah seriously.
I played these games a long time ago but i honesly think the 2013 is better than Rise of the Tomb Raider.

  • I could be wrong but if I remember right in the comics (which take place after the first game) she apparantly went insane from having been possessed and is now in a mental asylum.

Yeah i've heard about the comics i'm not sure if she's in an asylum though,i think she escaped or something like that. But i'm still pissed they just got rid of her because some people didn't like her she had potential.

  • I prefer Rise over the first game. The gameplay felt like a nice improvement to me, lots of neat additions and more stealth options but the story felt too similar to the previous game with Lara fighting against another ancient undead army and all that.

  • They did improved a lot of things i'd give you that,i just don't really like the story that's all i'm hoping they do better in the next one.

  • Just looked it up. She WAS in a mental asylum and was also targeted by Trinity. She later breaks free from the possession and now her and her mom are hiding from Trinity.

Hopefully they bring her back in the next game, it'd be nice to see her again.

  • Yeah she went through a lot,i'd be happy to see her again even if it's just a cameo.

  • The 2013 Reboot Is definitely my favourite. Although the gameplay was definitely better on Rise, the story of the reboot is better, which is what's most important for me.

A few early twists im Rise honestly felt very silly and unrealistic.

  • Neither. Old Lara was the one and only Tomb Raider.

  • that's not really the point of the post but aight

  • Uncharted

I never finished Rise and 2013 was decent I suppose.

I mean, you fight dinosaurs, demons, angels, zombies and a bunch of other mystical stuff with two pistols while wearing a skin tight shirt and hot pants in the original game. Compared to that this game might as well be an auto-biographical documentary.

yup. that's what i thought too (for the ancient army hing). they could have made the final stealth underwater easier. i mean, there's little to no way you can see enemies from above unless you swim to the middle of the hole, which makes them see you first and shoot at you.
