Kinda like how he ignored the fact that recently they have been addressing there problems, changing engine, and scaling back on games

This would have been relevant back in nov. where does cleanprince get his news from some guy on a horse?

i'm surprised the title wasn't "Telltale games didn't just die it was MURDERED!!!"
Seriously that guy needs to stop it's ridiculous.

  • I didn't watch as I knew it'd piss me off but I read the description and it's quite clear he has no idea what he's talking about as he says GOT season 2 is coming out this year and says anyone who played Batman season 1 or 2 will understand what he's talking about. Batman was amazing!

If you have some free time: join the discussion in the comment section of that video with me and some random dude. He was saying that the wd s1 was super awful. Yup i don't understand the guy either. The discussion began with my comment:

The biggest problem is not the gameplay but the stories itself.
These are imo the biggest problems in modern telltale stories.

    • pre-relationships: relationships that already exist before the game even started. Javier and his family; Bruce and Oswald; Michonne and her kids. Characters with Pre-relationships causes people to not care about them beause players were not able to build a relationship with them from the start. Telltale wanted the players to care about David, Kate and Gabe. But they didn't cause they all have pre- relationships with Javier.

-rewrites. A lot of interesting content was cut from ANF and I honestly don't know why they should do that.

    • (walking dead) unoriginal stories. Telltale should stop with the "good vs evil group/communities plotline and start making original plotlines.

    -the lack of hubs:
Lack of hubs = less character interaction = less backstory of that character = players don't care about them. If a player gets to know a character, there is a higher change he starts to care about him/her.

  • I didnt really agree with this guy when I watched it because he focused way too much about the gameplay. Its no secret we want Telltale to try and add more gameplay elements, but the main issue was a lot of Telltales games before Batman S2 felt super lazy with really cheap and boring stories. I do agree with the other stuff he said like Telltale working on way too many games and just focusing on spitting out IPs, but I feel like he focused too much on "the gameplay" being the same in each game.

  • The pre established character comment you made is exactly why Walking Dead 1/2, Minecraft, and TFTB have exceptional characters while GOTG, TWAU, and BM have likeable yet sometimes bland characters.

I watched the video and I like the amount of work and effort that he puts into his videos but it honestly seemed like he put very little effort into this one.

It could be that he began this essay at an earlier time and he may have wanted to release it around the time of the Layoffs but new releases and other gaming news may have led to him pushing it to one side.

But despite that he could have kept tabs on the topic while working on other essays and completely ignored the improvement in quality of Telltale Games after A New Frontier (Batman is a great example of that) and the appointment of Pete Hawley and what he has brought the company since then along with Telltale announcing that they will be moving to the Unity Engine in the future.

So in short I will say that I am somewhat disappointed as I expected him to invest a lot of time into making his videos relevant to the timeframe that it was uploaded in. I hope that made sense and apologies for any confusion

  • Adding Italian language would surely please Italian people and the remaing reviewers who didn't left following Ttg.
