Old writers vs. New writers
So I’ve been watching some videos about how people are worried about the walking dead and wolf among us sequels because the original writers had left, and for the most part I have to disagree.
While having old writers on any sort of continuation is good I feel there also has to be a good amount of fresh blood so there’s new ideas. An example of why this is good is for instance the uncharted series, the first three games were mainly written by Amy hening then during the 4th game, Neil druckman took over and I have to say it’s pretty hard telling the writing apart from one another and some fans even think the 4th one is superior.
Another example is the dark souls trilogy the first and third ones were headed by hidetaka Miyazaki, many fans including myself were happy about this but when the third game launched it was pretty much just a same game that didn’t really expand on anything. Ironically the second one which was headed by a different person is in my opinion the better sequel because it had a good amount of same and different from the first game but still kept what makes dark souls...dark souls.
The way I see it is sometimes you need to get fresh blood on a sequel to help open up new ideas or else it’s hard to reach the same heights you once did and I trust that telltale can make as big a splash or even bigger with newer staff on older series.
