I got Minecraft Story Mode: Season 2 for free on my apple products, and was it free intentionally?

I was looking for some telltale games that I owned to download on my new iPad and iPhone, and I saw that Minecraft Story Mode: Season 2 was free, and I got it. Was it free intentionally?

    Telltale will often release the first episode of a Season as a free download. They do this to advertise and promote the rest of the episodes in the Season (which are paid content). Telltale's logic is that if players like the first episode (for free), perhaps they will buy the other episodes too.

    So, don't worry, it is intentionally free to play (just the first episode) and you are fine.
