Is The Gameplay Footage Spoiler-Free Enough To Watch?
I want to go into the final season kind of blind, but I'm semi-anxious to see new content. I just want to be sure if I view the gameplay footage, it won't ruin the first episode for me (especially since we only have 4 of them this season).

Yes. It doesn’t give anything away. It mostly shows off the new mechanics and feel of the game. It’s really cool.
Straight up from the first 15 mins of the episode. Ya good
Yes you should wacth it If you want to know the new mechanics of the game
@eRock92 no spoilers whatsoever! Please come back and share your thoughts on the gameplay!!! I really really loved it
I'd watch personally. It basically just skips 2 minutes into the episode where it shows 13 minutes of gameplay. I'd say it shows 3 micro choices. (By micro choices you would see on the telltale website but not the end screen.)
It doesn't spoil anything in regards to the plot and is a great showoff of the upgraded graphics and cinematography.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'll definitely check it out now.
Unless you are super picky about what you count as "spoilers", I'd say you should be fine. I'd equate it to being as "spoilery" as the early previews for Michonne and New Frontier - that is to say, it focuses largely on world building and setting the atmosphere. They don't show any notable story elements so you should be good.
They also show some new gameplay elements (such as more elaborate hubs/combat), and you get to see the "graphic black" comic art style in motion, which is neat (but in my opinion, a bit underused as it only affects the super far off backgrounds).
What did ya think?
Ok. I watched both a recording of the live stream and the clip on TellTale's YouTube channel. I'm sold. That was a nice sample of the game. The uncut, single take camera was a nice tough. I especially liked the shift from third-person to first-person and back. The visual are nice and what I wanted in ANF: an enhancement of the S2 look. The details are also pretty nice for the TellTale Tool. I don't know what TTG will be doing with the Unity Engine, but I'm gonna sort of miss this comic style if they choose to abandon it. These teased those hubs so bad. lol They panned right over the options just so you would know they are there. Well played TellTale, well played. And I got a real S1 and S2 vibe from the tire swing and ticket booth scenes respectively. And it looks like we know how Clem got her head banged up... sigh ..this girl needs a break.
Let me just go ahead and pre-order this thing. I can already tell it's gonna be a something special. This story arc had a great take off, some turbulence mid flight, a bumpy latter half, but the the approach to the landing is looking good. If this final season can minimize the amount of bugs in game, this landing can be real smooth. The wait is almost over.
I’ve heard this from a lot of people. Personally I was getting mega S2 vibes because of the dark/depressing setting right of the bat, and the ominous feeling of loneliness that surrounded Aj and Clem even though they still had each other. The amount of atmosphere that was established in this short 15 min segment makes me hyped af!
Yeah, admittedly while watching this, I was wondering ANF didn't have this Arkham style control to it in places, particularly in Part 1.
Just saw you came back to share your thoughts on the gameplay. I am happy you enjoyed it. It looks amazing!! and apologies if I am coming across as annoying or anything
How is this even a question? Of course it's spoiler free. Of course they aren't going to release 15 minutes of gameplay that spoils the story or any twist reveals. Come on...
When AJ and Clem started talking about how there ar very few people left.. that was very thought-provoking, to say the least. I get that ominous vibe of just AJ and Clem, there are probably less than 10,000 in the state that they're in.
Also, if I have any problems with this it's how in the aj lessons segments they both say it at the same time. it should only be aj.
You're picking Clem's line, not AJ's. By them both saying it, it's like that's what Clem (you) chose to teach him. If she didn't say it too it wouldn't feel the same.
No, if only AJ said it then it would make sense because it's what Clem tought him. Regardless of your choice, she says 'that's right' implying this is still 'your Clem' who has taught AJ this. Still works.
I disagree, but it's such a small thing there's no reason to go into a 3 day argument over it lol.
Oh something made think of this again and I had a thought about it. During those moments, don't say anything at all and see what AJ says. That might simulate the effect you're going for.
I sort of kind of can see that a little bit.
Yup.
