We Need a Music Forum on Telltale

edited September 2009 in General Chat
Music is a pretty damn big thing! There's always something going on in the music world and there's a lot of discussing that can be done. If we tried to discuss music in just one thread it would be far to unorganized and confusing, therefor we need an entire forum for it in my opinion. Who else thinks that Telltale should create a Music Forum? Or should Telltale just be strictly all about gaming discussions?

I never really got the sense the forum was strictly for talking about games, pretty much every topic under the sun gets covered in general discussion.
I guess most topics are gaming based here though though because, Telltale being a games company, most of the forums visitors will have gaming as a common ground.

As much as it sure is okay to talk about just anything in this "general" section, i just don't see why a music section should be created.
I LOVE music and talking or reading about it, but there are plenty of other sites for this. Even if i don't mind the occasional thread about just anything, when i come to these boards, it's to read stuff somewhat related to Telltale or adventure games.
Besides, if a music section is created, then why not create one about cars, and then one about cinema, and then one about just any personal interest than some user might have ?
    See what i mean ?

I also love music (I have a several hour long .m3u file and that's just music that I can find), But unless a large chunk of the community actually made music, I see no point in a music forum.

    Q. Oh hai, do you like Michael Land's music?

    A. No, I like Jared's

Music chat's best kept to music forums, I don't think people coming on here would bother really to talk about there musical preferences when they could do it on a better more music-orientated site

    Nice idea though :)

Not exactly a music forum, but there's the favourite bands thread. Turns out that most people frequenting these forums like Metal (I'm not among those), so a music forum may actually less about

"Do you like Michael Land's music" - "Yes, I do!" - "Me too!"

    and more about

"Do you like Trent Reznor's music" - "Yes, I do!" - "Me too!"

That's because the internet is all 15-24 years old, angry, and white.

As a side note I can't think of anyone else I hate more than trent Reznor, he's a whingy little bitch singing self indulgent horse dung. And his music for Quake sounded like Kenny Glenn's cat

Because certain types of music can only be enjoyed by certain demographics, right?

If that's the case, I must be some sort of chimera, since a cursory glance at my collection shows at least one album for every genre I can think of.

There's many music-oriented discussion boards out there. Use Google if you don't already know about any. Not every forum needs its own music (or film/books, for that matter) section.

Way to overgeneralize. Also, his Quake soundtrack is awesome.

    But seriously

Anyone with Spotify should check out this trade I just made (all-by-myself mind) so music may be traded and such

I assumed this was referring to in game music and I was getting ready to post my views.

If I wanted to discuss music in general I don't think this is where I'd come.
