I think TTG could pull it off and make it an enjoyable game in its own right. As for whether it would be successful, I doubt it. The only people who would be drawn in by it i'd imagine are people who already liked ToMI and liked Morgan enough to want to buy a spinoff about a bounty-hunter from the MI universe.
Those numbers are a little low, even with people who hadn't played ToMI and found it through Gamespot/IGN previews/reviews etc.
Morgan's character was a great asset to the storyline of TOMI, but I think she was unfortunately miscast. No discredit to Nikki Rapp, who really puts everything into her performance, but I can see why she usually is chosen to be the voices for child characters, not adults. It was pretty distracting especially contrasted with the almost too-old-sounding voice of Elaine.

I hate to agree with this because I really do think Nikki did a great job and gave 100%, but I also thought she was miscast. I don't think there was anything she could have done differently in terms of acting, it's just the tone of her voice that didn't fit the character, in my opinion.
I think that Nikki Rapp fitted the character of Morgan fine. I mean, Morgan's little older than a child/teenager anyway, so I think that it's only right that she has a young-sounding voice.
As for the tone of her voice, that really just comes down to personal opinion, and my opinion is that it suited the character fine.
I'd have to agree with Hayden on Nikki Rapp playing Morgan. Guybrush started the series as a youngster (probably about Morgan's age or even a tiny bit younger?) with Elaine the slightly more mature one. Part of the character contrast was that Morgan is now Guybrush's fan, highlighting the amount of time that's passed since Guybrush turned up on a rock in Melee and decided to be a pirate.
But, Morgan has a very... curvy body and in terms of age, the models can't show the difference in age between someone in their 30s and someone in their early 20s that easily. So, how do we accentuate Morgan's relative youth to Guybrush without making him look an old man or making her look like jailbait? Give her a noticeably younger voice.
Also agree with MrFerder on Elaine's voice, though. The English voice is much better than the EfMI voice but it's been almost 15 years since that part was originally cast and I fear the time that's passed has shown up rather too much on Elaine. Now she sounds like Guybrush's mum, not his wife. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world so long as any second series is careful with how her character is handled I think.

I'd have to argue that point with you. Alexandra doesn't sound all that old to me in ToMI, though her yelling at the beginning of "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal" was a bit harsh. After that though, I thought she sounded fine, even during the poxed rage bits. On top of that she did both special editions and turned in very solid performances.

Yes, yet that is all part of her character. Hearing her voice cracking like that even if only for a handful of lines will change the user's perception of her age. She did indeed do well with the SE's, possibly being allowed to do more takes than with TTG? Yet that doesn't change the fact that she seemed older than her character should be on a few occasions - enough to affect how the character is perceived. Personally, I don't think it's a great coincidence that many fans said that Elaine seemed a tired character with the introduction of Morgan, though of course the reasons for their perceptions could be different for each individual.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on Alexandra's performance then.
It may just be that I was first truly introduced to the MI series through Curse of Monkey Island, but I personally think of Alexandra's voice when I think of Elaine. She just suits the character, in my opinion, and I don't really read 'old' when I hear those harsher lines so much as I hear just a bad choice in what takes were used. Her performance throughout the rest of ToMI was great and I have no reason to complain.

Never really considered it like that before. I just assumed that the two were supposed to be the same age.

It is just me, or does Elaine suddenly look like a lame love interest?
A key to Big Whoop... a quest to close it... buried deep in a jungle somewhere... three characters going to look for it...
Elaine... Guybrush... Morgan... Three separate episodes dealing with each of their adventures through the jungle to find the key...
Two episodes where they work together?
Anyone got any ideas?

I think exactly the same.
