Since Telltale is supposedly moving on to the Unity engine

What do you think it would have been like if the original WD games (season one, two, and three) were made with that instead of the Telltale Tool? Do you think things would be any different or no?

It depends, because Unity was a very different tool back in the day. It had, and sometimed still has, LOTS of performance problems on consoles. They did update it over the years to match UE4, but how the games ultimately end up depends on the developer. There are A LOT of garbage asset flip games out there (barely) running on Unity, which is why the engine has such a bad reputation.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are games like Ori and the Blind Forrest and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, that prove that Unity is capable of running AAA-Quality games.

Telltale's games will look much better thanks to certain visual features that weren't fully optimized or just didn't exist on the Telltale Tool.

  • Season 1, no. Season 4, no, if Season 2 and 3 stayed the same.

  • Probably would have ran and looked a bit better and certain behind the scenes development things like out of focus blurring wouldn't have needed to be done by hand.

  • They would have been no different...just easier for them to make...remember...it is only now we are getting an over the shoulder view for the game...so a lot will remain the same,
