Is Minnie alive and will we see her in ep2? (RIP Violetine)

edited August 2018 in The Walking Dead

I mean it's very likely we'll get to see raiders and we will probably at least get info about whether sisters are alive or not, and it makes sense they're holding them alive obviously, why would they just want them from Marlon and then kill em off?

Now if Minnie's alive then the captain of S.S. Violetine needs to really dodge that Minerva iceberg so as to prevent RMS Titanic 1912 incident.

I think there are a few options I can think of -

    1) Minnie is alive, but we don’t meet her until episode 3. In episode 2, Clem and Violet can begin a romantic relationship but this relationship is challenged when Minnie returns. Clem and Violet rescue Minnie (and Sophie if she’s still alive as well), Clem might have to choose between saving Sophie or Minnie. If she saves Minnie, Violet will be thankful but will also be torn between Clem and Minnie. If she saves Sophie, Violet will obviously be thankful that Sophie is alive but also really upset with Clementine and unsure of Clem’s motives. Clem might have the option to step back and allow Violet and Minnie to rekindle their relationship, or continue being with Violet regardless of Minnie’s return, or give Violet the option of choosing between Clem or Minnie. In the end, I think the strength of Clem’s relationship with Violet will determine whether Clem and Violet are just good friends/exes or girlfriends. And also whether Minnie (or Violet) stays alive.

    2) Sophie is alive but Minnie is dead. Sophie at first might be upset with Violet for moving on from her sister and be upset with Clem for taking Minnie’s place, but eventually she would become friends with Clem and be supportive of Violet and Clem’s relationship.
    3) Sophie and Minnie are both dead, and thus Clem will help Violet heal from the loss of her ex-girlfriend and best friend.

I also think it’s interesting to think about if Clem is in a relationship with Louis or in no relationship. In that case, I hope Minnie is alive and she and Violet can reunite. But I’m team Violentine personally soooo

  • I think Minne is dead or dying so that Violet can say goodbye and Sophie is probably the one alive

  • Violet is always using past tense in her sentences like "we were close,we were like this" etc. Probably they were already over before that indication even happened. Even if they weren't over, Minnie is most likely died. Even if she wasn't, I believe Telltale would find something to adjust relationships well, so I don't think it'll even be a threat.

  • I would only consider first option. I seriously don't think they are dead, I mean why would they be? If they are then it never made sense for raiders to request them. And after Minnie does return, why would Clementine be the one deciding about the relationship and not Violet?

  • Because Clem gets what she wants

  • She's using past tense because she always believed they were dead because Marlon and Brody lied to all of them at the school.

And I think raiders really wanted them to be alive, I don't see why they would be desd - if it's just for sake of Violetine relationship then that would be just in unrealistic way of avoiding a perfectly legit problem of the love triangle.

  • Yh but that would be beyond stupid.
Violet is the one who's been in relationship with both girls, Clem can't decide.
Violet: oh hai ex gf sup
Minnie: hai this ur new gf?
Violet: yh I thought u were dead so... anyway let's just both stfu and let her decide lul
    Clem: decides
    Violet and Minnie: aight then

  • More and more I hope she is alive just for the mellow drama, in episode 2 you jump start Violent, and by the end Clem has saved Minnie, and then has to decide to either keep pursuing Vi or step away. Hopefully it's not a big thing tho and is handled quickly, a little mellow drama is fine but it can get to be too much very fast.

  • I really hope she's dead. I just don't want to go through all this drama when she comes back while Clem actually has a thing going on between her and Violet and just make it all complicated. I really like Violet and think she is the right one for Clementine. But at the thought that everytime there is a scene with Vi and Minnie while I could just bite into my controller out of frustration.... I wouldn't really want that. Though I'm sure IF Telltale pulls this off, they will give an opportunity for this ship to go on. (Although I really can't see how they are going to write this. I can't imagine Minnie just being cool with it in the end and Violet being like “I'm really sorry, I loved and still care about you alot, but I want to be with the girl I just met a couple of days ago instead of you who I have known for several months by now.“

BUT I would have nothing against Sophie coming back. Also for the sake of Tenn and Violet, so they have atleast one of their sisters and friends back. I would like to know what exactly happened in the group of raiders too, so that would be cool. Reasons why Minnie is dead could be that she ended up doing too much trouble by trying to escape, attacking them, etc.

Now that's out of the way, I don't think Minnie's alive. Girls that get abducted don't usually live to tell the tale. Those raiders probably committed unspeakable crimes to her and her sister, and then folded them.

  • Man I felt really bad for Brody...she seemed like a nice person

  • The ending indirectly guarantees that at least one of them is still alive.
Hopefully both, so we can get two different accounts, reactions, and experiences from them.

  • By killing off Brody and Marlon, we lost not only an in-house source of exposition and/or buildup to the raiders, but the inevitable scenes of them reacting to what happened to the twins during the year and having to find the nerve to even speak to one/both of them when they're saved.

Thus, it only makes sense for at least one of them to be alive so they can give their account on what went down that day, have heart-to-hearts about what they went through all that time, and react to learning that AJ killed Marlon. The fact that Sophie and Minerva are not only two characters instead of just one, but were in fact twins adds more room for divergent & complimentary(?) characterization and drama.
