"Weak" Episode Discussion

Okay, so I'm hoping that we don't see Morgan on a toilet again. If we don't then this episode should be better than the last one. Panel for the game was earlier, so don't feel shy to comment like tomorrow about the episode. Comment before, while, or after ya watch.

I'll watch it later, last episode was "okay" (except for that..you know,Morgan scene) just all over the place like you said, so i hope this one is better.

Okay,i really enjoyed this one i love Althea she's great,i think Morgan is gonna kill that crazy woman.
Morgan finally found June and Althea yay !
Let's hope he find the others too.

Also i could be wrong but i think Colman Domingo (Strand) directed this episode so that's pretty cool.

I don't know how many people are still watching this show here, but what did you guys think of this episode ?

Not really sure what I think about that filthy woman as an antagonist. I mean, I thought Vultures were lame, but this is even worse. Even the Proctors, who were just bandits, were better than that. I think the villains this season are very boring.

  • Hey, kinda off topic, but I am only in season 3, which is the best so far hands down. I have a little concern about this 4th season, since Morgan isn’t exactly likeable character and many people claim that his appearance ruined the show. Is that true or is the quality on the same level as of season 3?

  • Eh,i don't know if it's that bad,i still enjoy some episodes it's not as good as season 3 but it's also not as bad as TWD S7 & 8.

Also yeah, they did a crossover with Morgan and he's like the "main character" of the show now,i actually like Morgan but i can definitely see why that's a problem for some people.

  • I liked the proctors tbh. Kind of annoyed they got no resolution.

  • Who would win? One obese black woman or some walkie-talkie?

  • If you liked S3, for your own sanity, please just imagine the series ended there and try to forget anything you've heard about a "S4".

The proctors weren't just bandits. They wanted to create some sort of macro community (aka empire) on the southern border of the States. They already had a pretty interesting trade system going on (that stadium in s3 was theirs) and there already seemed to be other settlements they were in control of (the dam being their intended new acquisition).

The concept of bringing order and hierachy to the apocalypse on a larger scale is very interesting. Not to mention that proctor John undeniably had charisma and that he would be a very intimidating (and powerful) enemy to deal with.

    Alas...

  • Season 3 was phenomenal, and the Proctors were quite interesting. Personally, I like Season 4, but Season 4 feels much more like the mainline Walking Dead series (which is not what it used to be). I like that they still try new stuff (the storm was pretty neat), and the landscapes are still beautiful (although I miss color), but killing both Nick and Madison was, eh, maybe not the best choice. At least not so close to each other, I'd swallow it if it was more than 5 episodes apart.

I miss some of Season 3's characters. I like Al and John a lot in this one, but Troy, Proctor John, and Walker were very compelling.

  • Oh, if it’s the same kind of transition as with TWD in which the series went into shit after season 5, then I should really listen to you
Seriously though, what went so wrong? Focus on uninteresting characters/topics/problems or just simpy inclusion of Morgan?
Not done watching S3, but so far its been just great

  • Got spoiled by moderator :disappointed: Should have expected when I peaked where I shouldn’t have just yet

  • Oh damn sorry my man. I hope you can forget. Also, Season 3 still has surprises that are good, so yeah.

My bad man. I hate being spoiled :(

Take note that I've dropped this show. I haven't watched S4B but S4A was enough to have me, a huge, long-time fan of Fear the Walking Dead drop it for good.

I did think Morgan was extremely boring and frustrating this first half, but no, he is hardly the reason I think S4 is a complete... mess.

First, you can completely ignore anything that's happened in the first three seasons... I mean it, everything. All the characters got a personality reboot. As in, they're completely different and unrecognizable. On the continuity aspect S4 is a complete failure.

Then you get to the plot: spoiler, it makes no sense whatsoever! They introduce some brand new antagonists whose motivations and modus operandi make absolutely no sense. They are contradictory in many ways: they have a main goal yet the way they do things gets them further and further away from that main goal.
There is a supbar attempt at giving them a backstory and to give an explanation on whatever they are standing for, but it all ends up being very shallow and overall silly?

Then there's the way they tell the season's story, which is just a cheap way of keeping you watching until the midseason finale. Don't get me wrong, I've consumed fiction which does the whole in media res thing very well. But the writers did not even bother to use it to their advantage or to introduce some cool little twists along the road... no, that storytelling method was used to serve a single purpose: keep the original fans watching until the midseason, where they reveal that... Fear the Walking Dead is just not Fear the Walking Dead anymore, in the most ridiculous and disrespectful way possible. In a completely contrieved culmination of events and really, really poor directing. (You know, the whole... characters sit around doing nothing as the bad guys perform their evil... EVIL plan!!).
They used it to make an incredibly nonsensical plot somewhat digestible. You are watching the present timeline and telling yourself: "Ok, this makes absolutely no sense. But that's ok, there's something in the flashbacks segments that probably explain what's going on here and make it all just... flow... right?" Unfortunately... no. Just no!

All in all, you should form your own opinion, obviously. I'm just a random stranger on the internet telling you that it's not worth your time, but should you really wish to see for yourself, I say go for it. Maybe you'll even end up enjoying it. I'll even be here to delve on these points after you finish watching if you want. Just know that it is definitely not a continuation from what you've experienced in the first three seasons. That is undisputable.

I may respond to InGen next btw!! Try not to look at that post as it will contain spoilers! xD

  • As I said above, I haven't touched S4B at all, so I can't really speak on that... I can say however that I haven't heard a lot of good things about it? Maybe it's just the places I visit : p. I don't know.

I dropped the main show long ago. I certainly don't want a "post s5"-The Walking Dead 2.0. Alicia and Strand are just not the same (calmly eating noodles next to her brother's killer was a little too much for me to keep taking her character seriously?)... I personally found Al and John and the multiple name chick a bit... one note? And don't get me started on Morgan "forgive the people who killed your family" Jones. I hear his kumbaya thing doesn't get better. I can't say that I have anything pulling me toward S4B? Hell, I was more or less fooled to watch the first half...

I am, however, hoping to get back to the TWD universe in general. The game and the comics seem to be looking up and that has me excited. I heard S9 of the main show is being handled by new hands, so I might just give that a try, but until I see something worthy of pulling me back into it, I think I'm done with Fear the Walking Dead. Which, after that amazing third season, is just a real shame.

Season 3 was phenomenal, and the Proctors were quite interesting. Personally, I like Season 4, but Season 4 feels much more like the mainlin

  • I appreciate you prepared me for huge letdown. It hurts to read this now that I started to think how superior Fear is in comparison to the main show. Christ, so reminiscent of trainsition from S5 to S6,7...And you dont have to worry about spoiling, ingen already did that when he wrote about Maddie’s and Nick’s death, GG

Just tell me one more thing...are there any indications that Morgan will just vanish after this season because I just can’t stand him and whoever brought up the idea to include him in FtWD deserves to have their ballsack cut off. How did he even manage to get from Georgia to California??? He is there purely for the sake of ruining the show lol

Take note that I've dropped this show. I haven't watched S4B but S4A was enough to have me, a huge, long-time fan of Fear the Walking Dead d
