The Whispered World in motion: amazing!

This new adventure game looks like a very good animation movie.

Did any german player tried the demo yet? Share impressions, please.

I played the old demo way back when Bad Brain was making it. It was downright amazing.

The trailer really did remind me of a dark Hayao Miyazaki film.

Actually the full game is already out in germany, it was released a couple of days ago. Latest info is that the English version will be released early next year.

It looks so good. Hopefully the story and gameplay are up to that level of quality.

looks great but the game makes me wanna cut myself until I die.

I got this game about a week or so ago and played through 2 of the 4 chapters already. It's really good... the story is kind of a dark comedy (subtle humor that is) with a lot of melancholy mixed in. Very quiet, but cute. The graphics are fantastic of course, as are the voice actors, and the puzzles are just about right for me. But from the reviews I took that the difficulty grows in the last chapters, so we'll see.

Anyone want to give a brief overview of what was said in the voiceover for us stupid American pigs that find the German language incomprehensible?

Wow, it looks really good. Thanks for sharing your impressions. As good as the game looks it would be a no play of me if the gameplay was bad, but it seems to be a classy and quality game.

Can't wait for it to get translated to other languages.

Also, a question for, you german buddies, a similar game called Book of Unwritten Tales. Is it as good as it seems?

When the future of the world lies in the hands of only one person...

... when fiction and reality start to blend...

... when strange things happen that no one can explain...

    ... we need heroes!

"What? A clown? What do YOU want here?" - "My name is Sadwick... I have to prevent the world from ending." - "Veeery funny."

Follow Sadwick on a journey through a marvelous fairy tale world...

    Explore wondrous places...

    Solve mysterious puzzles...

    And encounter fabulous creatures.

"At last I'm meeting someone. Are you from around here?"

Dive in to the new game from the creators of "Edna & Harvey: The Breakout"

    "Saaaadwiiiiick!"

THE fantasy adventure you've been waiting for: "The Whispered World"

This spectacular game will captivate you as well.

Experience an adventure you'll never forget.

"The fate of this world lies in your hands, Sadwick!"

    "Nooooo!"

    Sadwick... needs you.

"We're rocks." - "Ah... is that so?" - "Yeah. I'm Ralph. And over there's Ingo."

    :D

Actually I like BoUT even more that TWW. It's is much more comedy-oriented, has incredibly funny writing and an EXTREMELY well chosen voice cast. Still, both games are fantastic.

Thanks. Sounds really cool! Can't wait to play them. I'm glad germans like adventure games so much, so we can all benefit from titles like these.

Laserschwert, you continue to be one of the most awesome and valuable resources around here. Thank you!

The in-game art looks stunning. But the cinematic animation looks rather cheap.

I played the predecessor ("Edna bricht aus") and that's why I'm a bit skeptical. The game was often unfairly difficult to the point where it really took all the joy out of playing it. It wasn't as linear as ToMI, which some people may find nice, but the result was that you were often walking around with a full inventory that always contained at least 10 items that would have been a natural solution to the current puzzle. You would try all ten with no success and would finally resolve to just trying all combinations. A totally illogical one would then let you proceed.

Looks like a good game, but the animation could be better in some scenes.

I played through this game (Edna) the last 2 days.
The puzzles were okay. 4-5 were quite hard one of them annoying but the rest was fun.
I really liked the atmosphere in the hospital you try to get out of but I wish I would have just ended the game when I did.
The moment I saw the article in the doctors office I knew what really happened so the end was not very surprising for me. What I really didn't like is that you will not get a satisfying ending no matter what choice you make at the end. I really think both endings suck.

I really loved the flashbacks. Running around with Harvey and collecting topics to talk about was great. It also always left me puzzled if some events really happened or are just projections of what Edna thought happened in places while she couldn't get there. Really a shame that there are only 3 of those flashbacks in the game...

What I also really loved was Harvey. He had something to say about every single object in the game. Or the comic book which was totally pointless except for having a little fun. Or all the other items you could use to permanentely change the look of objects. It lead to some small errors (disappearing writings when I open the door etc.) but it was really a great idea.

I know but the adventure programmers must all be german and us english only speakers must wait in anticipation for new games.
Maybe our education system is incapable of producing enough intelligent programme makers.:(:o

I just tried it again with Firefox and had no password prompt.

did you try actually starting the download and not just seeing the conformation window?

In any case, I've already downloaded from another place.Installed-Played-Finished-Uninstalled. Great fun. Can't wait for the full ver.

    Yes.

I just tried it again a few times, and I did get a password prompt once. I just put it "anonymous" for both username and password and it worked fine.

Strange that it's not happening consistently.

Just got word from GAME here in the UK that my pre-order copy has just shipped, should hopefully get it tomorrow can't wait to try it I really enjoyed the demo. I've seen a couple of reviews so far one site gave it 8.5 and the other gave it 6.3 (I think the guy writing it was not a big Point n' click fan)

My copy of the Whispered World has just arrived, it doesn't come with the 12 side dice DRM stuff that was in the German version, it appears there's no DRM type feature whatsoever just the DVD and the manual not even a CD-Key.

I remember way back when Bad Brain was around and they were publishing this, A Vampyre Story, and some A-Team parody with a topless blow up doll as a verb coin. I wonder what ever happened to Bad Brain. There was a demo way back then too that blew my socks off. I wonder if the game has changed any. From what I've seen of it it doesn't look like it.
