Why did Violet let Clem take the pencils?

edited September 2018 in The Walking Dead

So Violet has been taking care of Tenn for quite some time now. Tenn is relying on her and he's seeing Violet as her mother figure, kind of like AJ and Clem, or Clem and Lee. Yet, Violet let stranger Clem take the pencils, betraying Tenn?

just because she had a crucough on clem?

  • The bulk of Violet's shtick seems to be that despite the whole "Moody loner girl" vibe, she's actually really passive for the most part and is up/open to pretty much anything.

Because Tennessee didn't actually want the pencils and never asked for them in the first place. She just used that as an excuse to go hang out with Clem a bit, then realized she had stuck her foot in her mouth when she saw AJ using them. It's why she looks guilty if you give them to her, she never actually meant to take anything from him.

  • Well Tenn had gotten along this long without them and AJ was using them...and lets be honest...it is not like they would not share later on down the line. Plus Violet is not a heartless monster to take them when someone is using them. When, if you give them back..she lets AJ finish his drawing. And yes probably she wanted to talk to Clem.

  • Because Violet is not the asshole some people make her out to be.

  • Cuz shed rather have the scissors...

  • Cus she love her!!!!

No but seriously in some respects its actually kind of cute that she did that now you got me thinking about it.

I think she was just kinda put on the spot when she saw AJ using them. She didn't want to be mean and just take them away, so she does the whole "yeah you can have them, I guess..." thing. To back that up, if you tell AJ to give it back, she looks all guilty for a second before saying that AJ can finish his drawing first.

Violet wanted to talk to Clem. She used Tenn’s art supplies as an excuse for barging into Clem’s room, then let AJ keep the box/finish drawing (because she didn’t really mean to take it) so she could be with Clem alone (sort of).
