Does anything ever come of it? I didn't really notice any consequences of looking in it or not. Did anyone find out what was inside?

If you try & look into it she forces you to leave her room (then not allowing you to come back in). Not sure if you can or cannot actually find what's in it... I tried, but wasn't able to
