Who else is kinda pissed at where Telltale's going

Like 8 TWD games already, Sam and Max, Back to the Future, Puzzle agent, and all their old school games down in the dumps. All for an interactive movie simulator ripping off the chose you're own adventure books. GOTG I was ok with but MCSM (1 and 2... 2 for god's sake!) was too far, that was garbage. We need some more point and click games. Maybe even choose choice versions of the old stuff. Just checked what's on their list, GOT2. Telltale's gone stale.

Wow yea I'm super pissed that they are making a Walking dead game and an upcoming season of The wolf among us, the game that fans wanted for 4 years. sarcasm

  • 8 Walking Dead games? Theres barely even 5...

  • i like choose your own adventures tho.

  • I'd like both. Telltale won't return there anytime soon though as far as I can see. They don't seem to be renewing their licenses on old games, so I doubt they will continue with them.

That being said, I really, really wish another Puzzle Agent games will come as well as Sam & Max and that they would continue Bone. A new Poker Night would be welcome as well, but seeing as telltale didn't renew their PN2 license I'm not sure they will make another one.

@AChicken someone remembered Guardians! It actually did exist :{D

They aren't ripping off choose your own adventure style books because that's exactly what interactive movies do, they bring CYOA to screen. Telltale's not going back to point-and-clicks, it just isn't feasible for them. Even with the layoffs their size can't work off the profit margin of switching to that narrow niche since the company isn't centered around that genre. They might be able to go back to certain IPs but only household names like Jurassic Park or Back To The Future, which is what they would need to expand the demographic off from the niche of adventure game players (the demographic isn't a bad thing though).

You have to think of it from a business perspective. Sure it was eventually overdone but switching to The Walking Dead formula was a no brainer because it was a smash hit, so they naturally molded their company around that success. Their company and brand isn't built around Point-and-Clicks anymore; they couldn't realistically go back even if they wanted to (and I'm sure many of them do).
