Well......You had to see this coming.....
“The Walking Dead developer Telltale hit with devastating layoffs as part of a ‘majority studio closure’”
All you have to do is look at the direction management went in after TWD S1
TWD S1 E1 consisted of Hershel's farm, clementines house, the drug store, and clearing the motor lodge..In 1 episode!!
TWD S1 E2 was prob the best writing and episode I ever played... The farm... The craziness.. The storm at the end...WOW.....
TTG has always been a evolution of Lucas Games at its core. Fun puzzle thinking games... BTTF and TWD S1 were my favorites by far. Followed by Wolf.
The second TTG tried to be more then what it was at it’s core is when it became soul less. Whatever executive that decided to go in the “new direction” after TWD S1 ruined the entire company....Blinded by the massive success of TWD S1 he or she decided to change the formula....Really? sure.. why not... After your most successive game you decide now would be a good time to change the formula from everything that the core customers loved.....What a dumb ass...The smart CEO’s know what their core customers want and can innovate and expand upon that. Not change the formula of what made the company great at the peak of its biggest success.. TTG decided to take a crap on the core customers who enjoyed their earlier games and in the end it cost them...
I stopped playing TWD S2 after E1. The camera angle changed... I could tell something right away because clementine was so close and the large playing field was cut short. TTG stupidly tried to make games more like a running movie’s cutting out the in-depth explore hubs... Puzzles... the wind mill puzzle? Shit hard puzzles were replaced by open a box and push a button... What a long fall from the train puzzle in TWD S1... Long gone were the nice in-depth hubs where a player could take 40+ mins to enjoy dozens of dozens finds within a hub were replaced by BS attempts where there were like 4 or 5 dots to explore.. I mean WTF a dot on a kitchen drawer to find a empty can within...... Seriously.... I remember BTTF with Doc’s garage.. Must have been 100 possible dots to explore within the garage...... TTG went from Doc’s garage with hundreds of possibilities to a kitchen with 3 dots and a drawer with a can.......
The second Sean Vanaman left I felt something was going on.... You ever play Firewatch? It puts everything TTG has made since TWD S1 to shame......
As sad as this is for TTG it was bound to happen......
