    Everything up until the black screen at the end of episode 2 is canon. We cannot ignore the history even if its bad. Everything happened, even ANF

    In all honesty season 2 (whatever ending you got) was the perfect send off for the Clementine character. I have a feeling at the time they may have intended that to be the end for her character as well. But then they started hurting for sales and they needed to bring her back as a marketing ploy for the next game.
