See, when you said Krull, I thought you said Skull, and then I got thinking about Murray and... wouldn't a Murray game be interesting? Maybe he could find a rollerskate or something so he can move around. Just a thought.

Worst idea for an adventure game? Half-Life. 'Use gun on Combine'. 'Use crowbar on box'. 'Use gun on Combine'. 'Use brick on seesaw'. 'Use gun on Combine'. Etc.

I love that movie, and hate that Duke Nukem gets credit for that line, as well as the lines they stole from Evil Dead.

Remember when people found the Chapmen a bunch of sell-outs?

Really? Why would they call The Brothers Chaps a bunch of sell-outs? The word "sell-out" means "betraying one's own philosophy for monetary gain", and I don't recall any of the Brothers Chaps' philosophy being broken in SBCG4AP. They kept everything simple, clean, and, most importantly, funny. Sure, the game's not free, but neither is the DVDs and T-Shirts, right?

    un chien andalou adventure game
  • edited October 2009
Non Linear game where you are dropped middle of everything, not knowing what the lol is your goal and then you can use adventuring and/or your combat skills to make sense out of it. It fits to typical protagonist, because they usually don't do what they want but what they are told to do and then it becomes somehow to be their own wanting and goal too (typical RPG start, main character is doing something and suddenly you get company who seeks main character's help and some strange reason main character helps like hero).

I feel the same about most BBC kids productions though, (Merlin / Robin Hood etc) so don't take it personally!

Doctor Who isn't a kids show. It's family. It's spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures is more for kids and it's other spin-off Torchwood is more for adults.

So Doctor Who ISN'T a kids show but for the whole family no matter what age.

Alright then that's okay, you're entitled to your opinion.
Just that, calling Doctor Who a kids show is like talking about another mans junk.
Calling it's spin-off the Sarah Jane Adventures a kids show is okay.
Calling it's other spin-off Torchwood a kids show is even WORSE.

I mean, Doctor Who has become socially acceptable. Star Wars and like Star Trek not so much in a way. Even though I'm also a huge Star Wars fan :D

I love Star Wars (even, dare I say it, the prequels.)

    I love Star Trek.

    I love Sci-Fi generally.

Just think Dr Who is cheaply made with poor special effects. It's just toooo British IMO (I am British btw), can't really explain it.

Even though it won the guiness world records for "Longest Running Sci-fi series in the world" and "Best sci-fi series ever". Search them up and you'll see.

I'm not a Star Trek fan and never will be. Just too cliche it is and already I've got so much crammed in me with Star Wars and Doctor Who.

Also I see so many links between Doctor Who and Star Wars that you wouldn't believe. Peter Cushing (Tarkin) playing an alternate Doctor in Doctor Who and others.

Also in an interview with Spielberg, he commented how Doctor Who is a great show.

I don't need to search, I know it has many accolades.

I liked the original ones, but everything from Sylvester Mccoy onwards hasn't done it for me.

Each to their own though, I'm just personally hoping that TTG don't make adventure games from it...

    Use sonic screwdriver on Tardis
    Use sonic screwdriver on Dalek
    Use sonic screwdriver on Cyberman
Use sonic screwdriver on Captain Jack etc etc..

Out of interest, would you want Matt Smith to be The Doctor in a hypothectic TTG game?

just make him lose it somehow and that isnt a problem

Unwritten rule: the sonic screwdriver may never be used as a final solution to get you out of trouble.

Also, Daleks are probably already immune to the sonic screwdrivers. After ten times being hit / killed with a weapon, they somehow all gain immunity against it.

Using a sonic screwdriver on cybermen probably would only result in a boot against the head. Using one on Captain Jack... I just don't wanna know, but whatever it does, Jack's probably going to be able to find a use for it that he likes.

Paul McGann was also a good Doctor and is considered part of the classic Doctors.
I don't mind what Doctor they'd use. They could use any of the classic doctors. Or the Doctor used by TTG could be a new alternate Doctor with a new actor. Now that would be cool seeing as Big Finish does it with the Unbound Doctor Who stories :)

I saw a spin-off of that at my local rental store; "Sunday School Musical". "They put the 'HIP' in worship!'
I hate some people for producing things like that.

But other people you just dislike? :p Seriously though, who uses "hip" anymore? Besides those women in their 40's with the short hair and thick, emo glass who wear tight, black tees and a pink scarf wrapped once around their neck with the ends dangling down the front to their knees? I'm the type who'd barf if someone called me a "fashionista" and even I think those women look dorky. (I suspect they were the teens who actually wore those "Blossom" hats and granny dresses back in the 90's.)

    And yes, I am a cat ;)

In re: Dr. Who, who can explain it?

Personally I have no idea why Emmerdale/Eastenders/Coronation Street even exist. But they're popular.

Worst ideas: how about a game based around Gordon Brown in a Leisure-suit Larry style, just after he's been voted out of office (not that he was ever voted in)

I never watched Doctor Who and I've only heard about it from british websites and random forum posts. It might be a bit too obscure outside of Brittan, I really don't know. From what I've heard here and there it's basicly "The Avengers" with time travel.

Oh, no Harry Potter and/or Twilight.

I would've imagined Wallace & Gromit didn't have much appeal over in the states.

as a movie sure.. it wasnt bad.. or poorly accepted..

as a game.. meh ,, not to sure.. the polls show proof of such but.. dont know if enough voted vs how many played.
