anyone have preorder collectors discs?

edited October 2018 in General Chat

as you may or may not know, before the walking dead (or after) teltale would make these episodic games, and at the end people who reordered or bought the whole series, would get a collectors edition in the end, when all games were released

games/dvds I have:

sam and max seasons 1-3

tales of monkey island

back to the future

it is important to note in Tales Of Monkey Island Adam Harrington and Kevin Blackton voiced LeChuck in 4 episodes, and in episode 5 Earl Boen came out of retirement to reprise his role, and when the dvds came out he replaced all the VO for LeChuck,

It was the same for the Back To The Future game as Kid Beyond voiced Biff Tannen but again when the dvds came out Thomas F. Wilson re voiced Biff Tannen, and from my knowledge the collectors dvd was used when they re released it for the current systems like ps4( needs to be confirmed, I haven't looked at it)

I am unaware if the actually exe. files have the original VO or teltale replaced them completely on their site, I am in the process of downloading them now, and encourage anyone for archive purposes to download them as the dvd, and exe. are different because and could hold unused VO that could of been token out on the collectors discs
( I can confirm that yes, both BTTF and TMI have the original VOs for the exe files, which is great news, but atm I do not know if the BTTF dvd has Tom Wilson, I could be wrong and it could be from the remake, but I feel as if it could of been from the dvd)

with the closure of teltale, the big question is do you own any old teltale games dvds? and if so what are the chances these discs will be worth anything in the next 10 years?

I can only imagine as these discs were a limited type run and considering teltale did this way before the walking dead was popular, I am wondering if anyone actually got a hold of these discs, if they actually continued to produce them as from what I remember, these discs were mainly for people who bought the whole series, and would ship when they completed the game episodes, and from my searching, users have backed up this claim, as its something you cannot get from steam or from any other stores like wii or ps4 and xbox, these dvds came with ordering all 5 episodes at once, though again I am unsure if they continued to make them

it would be nice to get a list of dvds fans own, and if they do own dvd collectors dvds, we need someone to take down emails, as I think with telltale being gone and the site wiped, alot of games like the bones series will be lost forever, and we at the very least need the community to makes videos to remember these games by( obviously them closing the company does not mean we can pirate them) I fear if we don't do this now, then these games will be lost as I doubt these games will last on steam or on ps3/cloud more then 2 years without someone buying off the rights, plus once the site is gone the original files will be lost as most of steam and the systems have different games completely, especially the ports of back to the future

  • I have the three seasons of Sam & Max, Tales of Monkey Island, and the Wallace & Gromit DVDs. While it would be nice for those to be worth millions some day, high prices require not only low supply but high demand, and if demand were that high, Telltale wouldn't be having its problems. Still, it's nice to have them on the shelf, to gaze upon them and remember the experience.

  • I believe the deluxe editons are going to be worth something in the near future, as games like TMI only shipped about 2k of them, and changed warehouses that then never printed again

maybe your right, but at the same time you have to understand that these dvd could be rarer then we know, as teltale hasn't even made them since after it became popular, and none of the old links work

all I know is the BTTF collector edition is worth at least $60, with the deluxe at least a good $140
