All this Talk about Minerva and Lilly being shit, honestly I don't think it's even an issue with the Episode so much as the Direction that Telltale went with their characters. It's subjective and has nothing to do with the Quality of the Episode itself.
To maybe not be dull and a walking zigzag...that digests herself?

If you want a more developed antagonist, maybe you shouldn't kill her and wait for the next episode.
Lol,giving development to the main antagonist of the game in the final episode, awesome.
Well there are only 4 episodes in total which run for about 2 hours each. If you spare her at least she'll be in 3 episodes all together. I don't get it, do you want an entire episode explaining how Lilly got to where she is now? The story is based around Clem and Aj, they can't waste time telling a story about how Lilly survived for so many years.

Alright, alright, easy there guys. Let's not escalate over each other opinion's...Telltale might be gone but the forum guidelines still apply! Just relax...
Personally, I really enjoyed the episode, especially the first 2 parts. While many people seem to hate what they did with Lilly, well I never really liked her in the first place, so I didn't really care that much. Plus, she's still alive in my playthorough, unfortunately.
It's definitely better than any of the TWD's penultimate episodes, the end of the last act felt a bit rushed and strange, but if you kill Lilly at the end, it gives the finale even more suspense, like the villain is dead, what now? We got AJ, what now? We cannot really say anything for the final episode, except for the main theories about Clem's getting bit/surviving TFS, so I am really looking forward to it.

You know, it's funny--I've been thinkin for months now that Lilith's reintroduction(or more important, the chase itself) probably could've been given to Dorian.
But given how this episode goes, that can apply in general.

I'm pretty sure it's too late for any development for Lilly, she's basically Hitler now.
Everything they did with Lilly could've been done with a new original antagonist and no one would fucking complain about any of this.
That's the thing, Lily was never the real focus of TFS. It's Clem and AJ. The greater story isn't about confronting her.
Lily is just an obstacle, she's not even a proper final boss. And she definitely wasn't an antagonist in the exact same vein Kenny/Jane, The Stranger and David/Joan were.

I'm honestly curious as to how the Lilly path will work if you save her.
I'm really hoping that Clem will be able to handle her once and for all. With her own bare hands.

Given what we saw with Conrad if you have him survive in ANF, I'm betting nothing much. That's not too mention the other determinant deaths in S1 and S2.
The writers would simply would not have her die this episode if they intended to write more for her in the next one. There's too much work otherwise.
That's the thing with determinant deaths, from a game mechanics standpoint it's basically the writers choosing to have less work to do on the next episode when it comes to narrative choices and storytelling. it's a signal of "okay we're effectively done with this character".
Lily's arc has completed, in my opinion. We'll see. And technically James is determinant too. So he's likely done too.
Wouldn't be surprised if Lily or James die within the first minutes of the episode just to get rid of them, and not by Clementine's hand.

What more did you want out of her character?

And you think accurately.
That could be done right.
Mm...you're... technically not wrong?
...Just likely not about this.
Episode 3 was the best penultimate episode during an official season for a long time

On that same note, though, why even bother?
Basically you all wanted Lily to be something she's not and you feel that's a flaw in the writing rather than your own personal sentiment.

Remember there's walkers in the water.
That chick can eat her heart out.
