I personally chose to save Violet and I thought it was awesome. I hated that Louis got his tongue cut out, but he gets traumatized in both v… moreersions and becomes a crying mess either way. I know that sounds like I'm hating on Louis, when I really do like his character a lot. He's just not great in a skirmish against humans.
I completely agree with you on that. Kent Mudle even stated that Louis doesn’t hate Clementine for not saving him, he’s just so happy to see her while Violet feels angry if you save him instead. Both of them are trustworthy characters, but Louis has more of that attribute, and that’s why I’d pick him too.
Both are trustworthy, but depending on your choices that can definitely change. If you save Louis, Violet goes full hater on you. If you save Violet, Louis is traumatized but he still cares about you. That's why I'd pick Louis.

My problem with Louis that he's too much of a pussy. It's clear that Louis is not built for the hardened lifestyle of living in a fucking apocalypse. Somehow he's still alive.
He's constantly squirming away from violence. I don't know how this dude is supposed to protect anyone. No way I'm letting him be a guardian of AJ. He'll get AJ killed quick.
I still think it's terrible writing that these kids were somehow able to skirt death and conflict with other groups for so long. Them being so incredibly sheltered just annoys the hell out of me.
Like I'm not trying to create a daycare with these kids and pretend everything is okay, I'm trying to sustain ultimate survival.
I also find Violet flawed in a different way. I just don't really like her character in general or trust her temperament to be consistent.
I can trust Louis on a general level... but not on a level of survival and pragmatism (which is the most important thing in TWD, not cracking jokes every 5 seconds).
I can trust Violet on a pragmatic level.... but not on a general, interpersonal level.
To be fair, going off in game stats isn't a good indication on whether a character is more popular or not. I mean, final results show that a few more people saved Doug over Carly in Season 1 Episode 1 and Season 2 is split 50/50 for Kenny and Jane. Yet I'm pretty sure there are more people who like Carly over Doug and waaaayyy more people who like Kenny over Jane.
Also, a lot of people still haven't even played the final season yet. Everyone I know in real life who cares about this game says they aren't going to play it but watch it on YouTube/Twitch, or wait until all the episodes are out before they play it.

I can't blame them.
Honestly after how they fucked up Lilly and the plot of this game, there aren't really anything else interesting,Lilly has been hyped as fuck and she just ended up being disappointing and the plot too.
Now i'm back in a state of where i just don't really give a shit anymore,i just want to see if Clem is gonna die or not,and if i can get an ending where Clem,AJ and Violet lives i'll be happy and then i'll move on.
This game overall is just not really interesting and pretty much everyone will forget about it after it's finished, the only thing most people are looking forward to is how Clementine's story is gonna end, let's hope they don't fuck that up too..

The people that I know who are waiting for the game to finish or plan to watch it after all episodes are out couldn't care less about Lilly though. Heck, I don't think they even remember who she is, much less her name. They are pretty indifferent when it comes to all the characters except Lee and Clementine. Heck, I honestly don't know anyone in real life who likes the TWD games who also likes Kenny. They either don't like him or are just indifferent about him.

Nah, the final stats are indicative of the choices people had when they played the game.
People who like Carly over Doug are just more vocal about it. Same with Kenny/Jane. The stats clearly show an even split but it's just one group feel more inclined to be incredibly loud about it.

The Kenny fandom is definitely a strange little internet-exclusive phenomenon. And it's CERTAIN online spaces, too. For instance the Kenny/Jane debate here, atleast recently, is pretty equal. It's nothing crazy.
Whereas certain other places feel like Kenny cults.

I don't really believe that. I've seen the stats fluctuate over the choices that have to do with picking certain characters over others. Back when Season 1 first came out, the percentage majority of people who chose Carly over Doug was in the 70s or 80s. It has only been maybe in the past year or two that the stat fluctuated to be in Doug's favor by a measly 3 point difference. I wonder, do multiple plays on different files with different choices affect those stats?
Same thing happened with Kenny/Jane. The stat for Kenny Vs. Jane favored Kenny for about a few weeks before Jane shot up to be like 70 or 80 something percent. I think after a few months to a year after the second season came out on PS4 and XboxOne the stat dropped down to 50/50. I'm incline to believe that the Jane fanbase isn't larger than the Kenny fanbase much less 50/50. And it's not just here, I've seen the Kenny fanbase on other various game forums and YouTube.
And again, many people haven't played this season yet, either because they have no interest to play it, but instead watch it on YouTube, or they are waiting for all the episodes to be out so they can play the whole game in one sitting and move on. This is also taking into account that less and less people seem to play TWD game when a new squeal comes
out.
Also, picking certain characters doesn't necessarily mean that player likes that character. They could have been indifferent and were just thinking more about their own moral judgement in making the decision. Kinda like when you're given the decision to save Duck or Shawn, I always choose Duck because of my moral belief to save children first. As someone who shot Kenny in S2E5 (and doesn't regret it), no way in hell do I like Jane more than Kenny. I'm personally indifferent to both of them. Now if you were to tell me which character I find more interesting of the two and would rather hang out with, I would pick Kenny in a heartbeat.

Imagine all the love Violet would be getting if she shot Minerva in the head instead.

In my playthrough, Violet.
In the overall meta of the story, Louis.
I swear I misread that as "He's just happy to be here" just now.

Wow. That's the most educated, fair thing I remember you saying.
Guilty, without maybe the first syllable.
lmao, you spend too much time in this forum echo-chamber if you believe the majority of players aren't interested in this game

Depends on who you choose to align with pretty much.
Yes the majority of players are interested, and i don't think this game is bad but for me i just kinda lost interest and i'm not the only one.
