Is there an ending where mr x doesnt die in the resident evil 2 remake

Like does he survive scenarios leon a or b , claire a or b cause im pretty sure hes the boss at the end for the scenario b's which he is blown up. so what happens to him when birkins is the final boss of scenario a.

    Basically if you are playing as Claire the assumption is that Leon took him out before getting to the train. He's dead.
