So THAT’S why you want her to join the Delta...
My Clem’s merciless to those who cross her. See Minnie? Whether or not she’s been braiwashed doesn’t make a difference to me. She’s already dead.
I've always liked the idea of Clem being absolutely ruthless, but still caring to the people that she's close to.
o shit, that would make her a sociopath wouldn't it?
It's a good contrast and makes her 3-dimensional. There's nothing realistic or fun about being an emotionless killer with no personal stake in anything in the world. It's also pretty lame to have her be a good-hearted paragon considering it's the apocalypse and she often faces more trouble from other people than she does kindness. It shows that someone is complex and ultimately human.
Making a Clem who only rigorously loves and cares for AJ, and is indifferent and spiteful to others is a very human take. Probably the most realistic if you consider Clem's background and her experiences.

And OP, no you're not only one and we're probably a minority but I certainly don't think our narrative playstyle is all that rare. 33% of people made AJ feel justified in EP2, and that's definitely a sizable chunk of people with a similar philosophy even if it doesn't mean it's the majority.
I think we're just not as vocal about it. There's simply other things that other players are more vocal about that make them seem like the majority (The Kenny cultists for example. Even though the deciding finale choice in S2 is an even split, you wouldn't think Jane had any fans based on how suppressed they are and how not loud they are).
I guess for us, the "ruthless" players, we're just less likely to scream about how we like to roleplay Clem and AJ.
Personally, I just like a more darker and realistic Clem, and that her ruthless pragmatism is merely a result of the endless trauma she's been through and the circumstances of just the apocalypse affecting her.
I think even canonically, Clem is dark regardless of your headcanon. S3 : ANF pretty much proves that despite the dislike some people had for it.
Clem feels nothing for somewhat accidentally killing a man over bullets and easily forgets his existence in the next 2 seconds (Eli). She's also a thief and has no conscience robbing people if she saw it to be fit(evidenced by her robbing Javi). Pretty much no way to pretend Clem has some sort of heart of gold towards other people not named Lee or AJ. I think trying to think of Clem as a traditionally "good" person is faulty and misses what TWD is supposed to be about.

There are a bit too many moments out of the player's control where Clem is smiling at people and being friendly and whatnot to play a really ruthless Clem.

Let me give an example of wwhat I meant.
The walker couple at the station. A ruthless Clem would have killed them as soon as she spotted them, not consider what they wanted when they were alive, or say sorry to them before killing them.

It's part of the reason, but there are many reasons why I want her to join Delta
That wouldn't make her a sociopath, it just makes her hardened and doing what is necessary.
Same

My Clem is ruthless but with a good heart and is raising AJ the same way. You can't be soft in the apocalypse, but you can't be heartless either.

Agree 100%
My clem is ruthless and heartless af...in save 2 OOF

Nothing contradictory about smiling and being cordial, and also being a ruthless mofo.

My theory is that the walker couple relates to the trauma at the McCaroll Ranch.
