Under "Settings" click the red arrows until you see "graphics settings".

Looks like you have some display problem. Normally you see where you can change the settings. How does the game look like?

    Here's an alternate way.

    Replacing the file prefs.prop
    Download this prefs.prop.
It has a 800x600 resolution, quality 1 and is in windowed mode.

Under "My Documents/Telltale Games/" you'll find a folder for the episode.
Replace the existing prefs.prop with the one you downloaded.

Use the explorer to go to "My Documents/Telltale Games/Launch of the Screaming Narwhal".
There you'll find the old prefs.prop. Copy this one over the old one.

Let's look at the actual problem. If the red arrows are missing, then something is wrong with your graphics.

Please give us some more information:
    dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

Then e.g. zip the file and attach it to a message.

Thanks. Here is the core of your problem:
Card name: SiS 661FX/GX Mirage Graphics
    Driver Date/Size: 9/22/2008 06:47:04, 3473920 bytes

Your graphics chip only supports DirectX 7.0, the game however requires DirectX 8.1 compliance.
That's why things are not displayed right.

I guess when you start a game it doesn't look correct either?

    That's something different.

A property of graphics hardware is compliance to a certain DirectX Version. Depending on that DirectX compliance the Hardware supports certain features.

What you are talking about is the DirectX Software Version installed on your system.
