The Bridge and Long-Term Consequences

  • Sure, but you can’t think about the plot while immersing yourself in a story, if you do you’re likely going to sour the experience for yourself. Look at what happened with the last Jedi, good movie, but people overlooked the plot, didn’t think about how it could play an effect in the next movie, and ended up ruining the new trilogy for themselves. I enjoyed it because I was there for the ride, I didn’t look too much into Luke throwing the lightsaber off of the cliff because what did it matter? He didn’t want to cause any more damage than he already has and that was a valid enough reason, and either way he bounces back and saves the day.

Case in point, a good story needs a plot, but the plot doesn’t always need to be deeply analysed if you want the experience to be better.

Blanketly, because plot is how a story is outlined. But most overtly because the story half is the element the vast majority follow this series for.
