Licensing music

edited March 26 in General Chat

I would like to contact telltale about licensing some music from one of their games. How would I go about that, or what contact is available? It's for YouTube.

  • It depends on the game. Many of the games associated with Telltale are in fact now owned by someone else, or they may be based on a property owned by someone else (who could own the rights to the music). If you believe that Telltale is the place to contact, you can try emailing webmaster@Telltalegames.com or sending a proposal to LCG/Telltale, 8605 Santa Monica Blvd #56565, West Hollywood, California 90069-4109. Telltale has laid off a number of their staff, and it is not known how responsive they will be, but that's what to do.

  • The music I want are from the Wallace and Gromit Adventures game. I can't find any copyright associated with them. Should I try contacting the composer first or is it clear who owns the music?

  • For W&G, I would try contacting Telltale first, but it's possible that the music you want might be owned by Aardman Animations. The licensing was funny for that game, and for a while, Telltale itself wasn't allowed to distribute it anymore.
