Small Islands/places in TMI

edited October 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
I was just wondering if anybody noticed how small the islands in this game are. I mean take a look at Flotsam island... the town is literally 30m big in length. Then a small jungle with a lot of useless places and roads in it. In the 2nd episode they gave us some more locations but some of them were too small like that small island which name i don't really remember :P. The 3rd episode had the smallest locations. But luckily the riddles and puzzles were amazing for me in this one.
I really miss the big locations with more people. Like a real town. Remember bloody island? Lucre island?? Huge islands with people and a lot of locations.

I believe that's the curse of episodic gaming.

I want to go inside more places, only place I can think of is the Voodoo Shack, De Singe's and the manatee, being able to go inside shops and houses give off a better illusion of there being more to the Island, I mean take Flotsam for example, we could of gone into the Newspaper place, even if it would of been stacks of papers and a desk. The court house is a place we'll have to see in the next episode :p so since we are going back there we'll be able to enter that Bar too. Oh and let us explore inside the Screaming Narwhal! Stop teasing us with Winslow, haha.

I think that we should be able to enter more areas inside flotsam, it felt pretty empty because of that. But I'm sure, since we're returning to Flotsam anyway, we'll be able to do more. I mean, if we were able to do it all from the start, it would be really annoying to re-use 100% of the same area.

I was just wondering, where is the Flotsam Times? It doesn't even appear to be on Flotsam Island despite the fact that Nipperkin mentioned it...

Nipperkin enters the building partway through the episode. The building is made of newspaper bundles, and while the camera angles make it hard to see, there's a giant printing press on the roof

No, the Flotsam Times is the rival newspaper that Nipperkin mentioned. Maybe it could be... inside the jungle?

I think Nipperkin might be a loonie. The fact he's selling a papers while trapped on an island, the conversation with his assistent... He might not look like it, but he's lost his marbles. Actually I think isolation has turned some of the residents of Flotsam crazy. Glass unicorns? That can't be healthy.

I think we won't see the jungle maze. It would save space to just remove a few screens in favour of others. You keep the first jungle screen, but one road leads directly to the Shack, while the other one leads to the Stone Wind God.

I was about to say the same thing as Spage. I think he's just mad!

On topic, Monkey Island 2 didn't exactly have huge locations per island either. The towns weren't really much bigger than the Floatsam one. Woodtick and Booty were both very small towns, although Woodtick had a fair share of screen-changing locations (if you know what I mean).

yeah that's why MI3 was better.
