TomI freezing in after the intro sequence

edited October 2009 in Game Support
After the intro sequece finishes (where it shows Guybrush in a beach..) the game freezes.

I think it's the same problem with this guy: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12392. But I'm running in a Windows XP SP3 and I couldn't download the MD5 file.

Thanks.

Yes, that wonderful website deletes files although they state they are kept forever :( I haven't found a reliable and "easy to use for everyone" alternative yet.

I uploaded the file again. It has the same link as in the other post.

How about ZIPping it up and attaching the result to a post here in the forum?

It would add an extra step of complexity for the user having to unzip it and moving the .md5 to the same folder as the installer. I didn't want that at that point.
I also mainly meant a better alternative for other users to instantly upload arbitrary files without zipping them. There are a lot, but most of them seem to have their own restrictions and have a bloated user interface.

Hey vg, so the issue is probably a problem of bad data (like you suggest by trying to get the md5 hash to work), but just to make sure, could you set all of your in-game graphics settings to the lowest possible values and see if you can get through that sequence? A small handful of people have had this problem and it wasn't data related.

It's slightly faster than making you redownload the whole episode from scratch.

Well, about the MD5.. if you mean http://www.filedropper.com/tomi it is redirecting me to the main page.

Yes I'm already running the game in the lowest resolution possible, for a better one would have it running very slowly. And I think I need the Md5 file just because I am having the same problem as the guy in the first thread, so it might be the same solution. I have no idea what is wrong.

    For now, thank you guys.
