I was hoping for another island as big as Flotsam with some buildings. Doubt that will happen.

I don't think that Episode 4 will include the RoG but I think that Episode 5 definitely will.

I disagree, but I totally think this is true.

I don't really care to see the Rock of Gelato, because frankly it looks way too small. It is called just a "rock" after all. Perhaps if it was the Island of Gelato I would feel differently but I am still holding on to hope for another full fledged island.

What about a small rock island with a evil lair in caves?

I'm still curiouse if we get to see a familiar landscape from older MIs. I mean this was discussed by telltale long ago - but now where everything seems to close down, I'm going to lose my hope on that.

Dont get me wrong, the locations of TOMI are variouse, and we traveled the whole gulf of melange, but still I feel, that older MIs had more different (memorable) islands and locations. the scape just feels a bit small since we get to know in Ep.2 that all those little islands of the gulf are just small bits of sand and eventually a tree. We had just Flotsam and Spinner Cay till now as what I would call a real MI-Island.

heck the zrock of Gelato could refer to a prison like how Alcatraz is often refered to as The Rock.

So wait, the best way for Tales to be different and memorable is to create a carbon copy of a previous game's setting?

I never would have guessed. Perhaps LeChuck's Revenge and Curse would have been better, more unique, and more memorable if we just stayed on Melee and Monkey Island.

I guess the Rock of Gelato could be connected by the underground pipes to Dinky and Monkey Islands, plus I always thought the undergroud tunnels on Phatt Island must be connected as well.
Man - maybe we'll even see LeChuck's fortress again! Eeeeee! I loved that fortress so much =] And maybe meet the voodoo priest / monkey again!?

    Gee I'm getting carried away...

wow u read my post to the half and misinterpreted it, respect!

i was saying, that another new island would be needed and that even an already known one would be enough. just to get one more island, cause 2 are just not very much. and the different islands made the prequels unique.
and yeah i liked visiting melee again in mi 4 and i like going back to old locations, which have changed.

Who knows what happened to the Tri-Island Area when Mandrill died.

    Back on topic...

I reckon the Rock of Gelato will be the focal point of a sea-based ch5. I'd like to see something underneath (caves, etc.) but not like in MI2. Didn't Guybrush remark in ch1 or ch2 upon the Rock of Gelato being the dullest place LeChuck's ever used in a plan? The Monkeys of Montevideo have something to do with it, they must.

The rock of Gelato will turn out to be just the tip of the head of a massive rock-carved monkey. Guybrush will have to use his pox based voodoo powers to charge the rocky monkey and thus control it in an epic battle of Monkey Kombat 2. It's gonna be awesome!

I'm hoping rock of gelato wont be a plain inhibited jungle like Spoon Island or the jungle on Flotsam (exception of voodoo hut).

Yes this only the monkey will have an ice cream scoop on his head

That's all that Dinky was besides HT and his parrot. Am I the only one who didn't like Dinky? I prefer Flotsam and Spoon jungles tbh. They feel more alive.

Dinky Island was amazing =] I mean - home of
    Big Whoop
! It's only because it doesnt have as much 'stuff' on it as Flotsam or Spoon...

Besides, I'm pretty sure it was part of Monkey Island because how else did
    Herman Toothrot
    get there?
  • edited October 2009
No, No, MONKEY is the home of
    Big Whoop
    .

@Lennie Melvin: I thought you were being sarcastic for a moment. GT's line in CMI sums it up in my view - "I found Big Whoop and was enormously disappointed." And HT's cameo was wasted on ten minutes for one lousy one-liner. Talk about trying the patience of curious gamers!

The Slab of Gelatin will be the transformation of Guybrush into Governor Phatt!!
