Could be something else, though, because I ordered yesterday and I am from Germany. Payed with Mastercard. I guess you triple-checked the digits you entered?

Not if you want to buy the full season.
If you want to buy just Culture Shock, you should be able to do that using a credit card through Paypal.
The Telltale staff has assured us that the people having problems with this will be able to upgrade to the full season when they get it working at no extra cost.

Thanks a lot.. i bought the season through paypal and was able to play the game

I bought the whole season yeasterday with my Visa (I'm from Belgium).

This fails for me, too; Intelligent Finance Visa-compatible debit card.

I've even tried phoning Telltale in the US via Skype, but unfortunately their call centre hangs up on me as soon as I get to a human. Deeply frustrating --- you can only play the demo so many times...

What number? We don't have a call center. (In fact, we don't even have a phone system... our office number goes straight into voice mail.)

EDIT: I just looked you up using your email address and it looks like a PayPal transaction has gone through. Sorry for the hassle but I'm glad you were finally able to make it work.

888-810-9965; the number was given to me by customer support (that was before I found the forums). (Support ticket KMM33253964V6677L0KM, case ID 15546737, if you care.)
EDIT: I just looked you up using your email address and it looks like a PayPal transaction has gone through. Sorry for the hassle but I'm glad you were finally able to make it work.

Yes, although that was a pain too. (Mostly Paypal's fault. I had to spend twenty minutes on their web site trying to figure out how to add a new credit card to my account.) The built-in to-pay-for-the-game-press-this-button mechanism didn't work, producing a very odd error message, which unfortunately I didn't record.

I'd still like the whole season pass, though...

Incidentally, a bug report: the game seems to be starting Internet Explorer as its web browser, despite me having Firefox set up as the default browser.

That was Digital River's customer support you were dealing with, not ours. They try to help but unfortunately they're not always as good at troubleshooting the problems with our store as we are.

Do you happen to remember how you ended up contacting their customer support? We're trying to direct people to us at all points in the purchase path, so if there is a spot where their customer support information is still being listed, please let us know.

I will add you to the list of people who want to upgrade to Season 1 when the PayPal situation gets straightened out. Again, very sorry for the hassle, but I'm glad you were able to get Culture Shock in the end.

Ah, I see! (Digital River are, um, not impressing me much.)

I got the address from "Telltale Home -> Corporate Info -> Contact Us -> Help with product activation or purchases", which seemed the appropriate place. I wasn't aware then that your CS support is done via this forum, and that seemed the best way to contact a human.

That's very kind of you. Um, I need to go and play some more now.

Still haven't gotten a resolution for this problem. Needless to say, we're just as frustrated as you guys are. :(

Rumplestiltskin, I'm trying to find out why your order didn't go through. Stay tuned.
  • edited November 2006
wow... quick reply there.. thx... (keeping my finger crossed...) :D
hmmm.. anyhow, could it be because the credit card company are precautious for stolen card from indonesia (carders)?

Do you have another credit card or a PayPal account? If so, please try to place the order again using your other card or PayPal. (You won't be charged for the first order.)

    edited November 2006
The latest status is that I emailed them yesterday and have not heard back yet. :(

Is PayPal an option for you? You might have better luck linking your credit card to a PayPal account, and paying that way. Of course, PayPal is still only available for episode one by itself, but we're still working on that too.

I'm having same problems as others, as i get the message "We are unable to process your order. Please verify your information and try again." I live in Finland and i'm trying to buy the full season of Sam & Max.

I have also tried to buy this few weeks ago too, but with same results. At that time i thought that was some temporary error in ordering system, but it seems like that wasn't the case :(

Naturally i have checked my info on multiple times and i have tried another card, but the result is the same. Finally i have to mention, that i have successfully used all my credit cards on internet, so there shouldn't be problems there.

Has anything happened about this yet? Especially with Ep 2 about to come out in a under a month.

I sent Emily a PM about getting an upgrade to the season but have heard nothing from anyone?!?

There's still no PayPal option for the season pass either :(

PayPal is being worked on. That is our top priority.

If you get the error message about the system being unable to authorize your information, your best bet is to pay with PayPal instead. If you're trying to buy the season for which PayPal is not currently available, buy episode 1 instead and let me know.

I am not replying to each email / PM I get about the upgrade, but I am keeping your names on a list and will alert you when the upgrade is available. We'll also promote it all over our site, don't worry.

As I said on another thread, there's nothing we can do about the authorization error. All of the responsibility lies with Digital River, and while we can talk to them on a case by case basis (as we have been), so far we have had virtually no luck getting this problem straightened out for anyone who's had it. I'm sorry, but it's not something we can fix right now. :( If you're one of the people experiencing this error, please try PayPal or wire transfer next.

can i send any payment via fax? rather than online?
  • EmilyEmily Telltale Alumni
    edited December 2006
Afraid not. :( Right now the only options are credit card, PayPal, and wire transfer.
