TOMI 4 Glitch with cups

So I had all these cups (from the Volcano shot) filled with various fluids.

I solved the puzzle about the burn on the Bosun's leg. Then I realized all my other cups were gone! When I tried to get new ones at Club 41 I was told only 1 per customer.

Is this a glitch? I need those other cups to solve the other court cases, I just know it!

    Thanks for responding. But could I get confirmation from somebody official? I don't want to play further if I'm just going to have to end up restarting.

    I (successfully!) played through the whole game that way. Is that official enough? :confused:

    Getting stuff taken away during the game happened in all Monkey Island games to date - what makes you think it's different with this one?

    I saw there was another thread about a glitch with the cups, so I didn't want to play unless it was clear something similar hadn't happened to me.
