Best New Character Poll

I think of all the NEW characters, Winslow is a classic and the only one with enough sticking power that we would want to see him return in future MI games. If you could pick one NEW character from TMI to make appearances in future MI games from the new series, who would it be?

Winslow, and the awesomest would be that Morgan doesnt show up in episode finale and to show up in season 2. coronado de cava would be cool in unimportant parts in season 2, not like the episode final kill, de singe simply isnt that interesting anymore and id like that he never shows up but I know he will

If I could only pick one it's gotta be Winslow, definitely.

    If Morgan
    hadn't died
it would be cool to see her come back too. And the Pyrite Parrot of course!

    Wot, no parrot?
  • Wot, no parrot?

surely one 'silly' option is enough! everyone loves the pyrite parrot but pick a CHARACTER!

LOL I already covered these characters for the most part in my polls but I guess it doesn't matter. Check my sig if you're interested.
  • I thought it would be gud to have a best NEW character poll since most of the new characters are a bit crap compared to the old ones

It looks like it's going to be between Morgan and Winslow.

:( What about Anemone, McGillicutty, Tetra, Trenchfoot, Hardtack, Santino (err), Boson Krebbs...? There's another 10 or so.

For this poll, I picked DeSinge, though I doubt I'll see him return. Still, though.

if you want to rate every monkey island character e.g. sea anemone 1 etc then go to doodo! 's polls. I thought it would be a good idea to highlight the favourite "main" character from the new tales. Looking at the results so far, it looks like winslow might have got a few more votes if he had a low-cut top! my view is that morgan belongs in leisure suit larry not monkey island!!

DeSinge! But, considering what happened, it'd probably just be a little background cameo - like a toy or something in the background art.

Speaking of which, I want a Desinge doll. One with a string to pull, and it makes him say stuff. Like, "I'm as happy as a penguin sliding on its belly!" or the one about beavers. Better yet, "Zat is a bucket of vater."
    Telltale, make it happen!

    Right there in the poll.

Voted none, not at least on the next game, its too soon to see one of these again, and there were no instant classics (like Murray) to justify an immediate appearence

Winslow is such a dedicated crew member compared to Guybrush's past crew member fiascos, so I would totally keep him.

I just cant get the appeal to Morgan. She just seems like a 'plot-filler with boobs'.
Please, prove me otherwise, I really do want to like her, but.. I can't. =\

I voted None, but I wouldn't be upset if any of them appeared again.

On the contrary, I thought Morgan was the only new character with whom the player could really connect. I felt warm and fuzzy as she built her relationship with Guybrush, I felt bad for her when she clearly lamented betraying him, and I felt the loss when she died in his arms. Although I will say that I didn't feel surprised or angry when she actually did betray him because it seemed like the obvious next plot point in the story. Chapter 3's "cliffhanger" didn't really leave me in suspense. But the rest of what I said holds true for me.

    ^ I couldn't have put it better.

Yeah, she was a "realistic" character. Easy to relate to, which is always a nice thing.

Eh, don't worry, you're not alone. Since I've never been a pirate hunter, flirted with a married man, and betrayed any of my friends, I can't relate at all to her either. But hey, there's still another chapter to go so maybe we'll both feel differently by the end!

Well, aside from the boobs, she has a "personality" and we're shown that she's in a dilemma between her living and dreams. Regreting doing what she's done after choosing between those two ways, she tried to make it up for Guybrush,
yet she ended up kissing the floor
    .

All characters are plot-fillers, if you think like that, including Guybrush. To me, she's one of the characters that have a distinguishable personality, and a very lovable one if you ask me.

Most will vote for Winslow and Morgan so I'm throwing my vote to De Cava, really liked that character in Chapter 3.

I am now officially going to point out why Morgan has such a large fan base using you words.

    I voted Winslow.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'd personally like Morgan just as much without boobs. Okay, some boobs, she's got to be a normal-shaped female (not that I would call her current design "normal" with her ridiculous Hartman hips), so maybe I should say I'd like her just as much without cleavage.

Morgan's got a great personality, and a fun character. Shes not just all boobs, like some action oriented heroines I could name.

I originally couldn't choose between Morgan and Winslow, but then I saw that Morgan was ahead and decided that I'd like to even it up a bit between these two legendary characters!

It's not really fair to call all characters "plot-fillers." There is a big difference between rounded and flat characters. It perfectly acceptable to have flat characters in a narrative whose only purpose is to push story. I agree that Morgan is a wonderfully rounded character, easily the most rounded of the new characters introduced in Tales. (And maybe even more rounded than some of the older characters, I'm looking at you Voodoo Lady!)

To say that all characters are plot-fillers is to say that plot is more important than character. Now the plot vs. character debate will probably go on forever and I'm not going to take sides, I'll just say that without character there would be no plot.

"...if you look it like that" part is there to imply that the person I quoted there was taking the "plot" side of that debate. I'm well aware of it, yet I'm thankful that you explained some things and expanded the meaning my comment.

Also you describing Morgan (and Voodoo Lady) with the word "rounded" over and over made me giggle a little.

Fair enough, and lol at the rounded. That word may be ruined for me now XD

You wrote it bold and underlined and everything. I strangely felt that you wanted to emphasis on the words "with" and "boobs", as if it's they're something bad. Not that this is any of my business, I'm good with everyone's own decisions...
