Some Questions

01. Are you Guys Fans that decided to make a New Monkey Island 5 Part Series, or do you work for LucasArts.

02. Will this Game Answer the Big Secret of Monkey Island.

03. So i must Buy the Chapters, since i thought they are Free to Download and will the Special Edition of Secret of Monkey island also be Included on the 5 Episode Disc Released for 2010.

04. This was a Game made by Sierra http://www.freddypharkas.com/ so a bunch of Fans decided to make a Cowboy Game that is Similar to Freddy Pharkas in the West. http://www.alemmo.com/ I was Shocked to discover after Buying the Game, it was Full of Drag Queens. How Close will you guys keep the 5 Parts Games of Monkey Island to the Original Games and NOT have some Guys Parade in Dresses.

05. Are there Patches for the 5 Chapters.

    1) If this question is aimed at Telltale Games, then neither. TTG pay LucasArts for the rights to produce the game by way of royalties. It is official, not a fan game.

    2) No.

    3) Why would you think they would be free?

    4) As ToMI is not a fan game, I'm not sure how relevant this question is. ToMI is faithful to the previous games. (Also, in MI2, Gubrush wore a dress for some of the game anyway!)

    5) No.

You should probably have a look at this sticky thread: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8578

    1) Neither.

Telltale is a legitimate video game company. LucasArts licensed Monkey Island to Telltale, and many Telltale employees are former LucasArts employees, including Dave Grossman, who is considered to be one of the three "fathers" of the Monkey Island series. So exactly what Thriftweed said, neither (and yet at the same time, both).
    2) No.

    No.
    3) Yes and No.

No, this isn't a fan game or anything, it's done by a professional game company and has to be bought like any other game. I believe there's a free demo, though. And SoMI: Special Edition was done by LucasArts and is in no way connected to Tales of Monkey Island or Telltale.
    4) LOL

Yeah, that sounds awful. No, like I said, this was done by a professional game company, and many of the developers worked on the older games in the series. Ron Gilbert himself was even brought in to help with the fifth part. It all stays very true to the old games, down to Stan's physics-defying coat.

No, he answered everything, and I really don't blame him for giving one word answers, you could've answered all these questions with a simple trip to Wikipedia.

I always thought that it was the name of the sled. Or was it that Wally was actually a ghost the whole time? Oh, screw it.

I couldn't say about that. I've never seen Tales crash, and the only other Telltale game I've played was the first two episodes of Strong Bad on the Wii. I've never seen anything about patches, though. The one thing I do know is that they do fix a lot of the more minor things that need correcting for the DVD release of the game. As far as I know, they usually get all the planning for each game out of the way before the season starts, then they finish the first episode and begin on the second before releasing the first, then they sort of work on the games as they go, so the DVD is a chance for them to really polish the game to perfection. Not to say that the episodic games aren't extremely well polished, just that from what I understand, the DVD is even more so.

Of course, what little I know about Telltale's inner workings is from being active on these forums for only the last 25 days, so I could be way off here.

Are these Games Point and Click, or do you use the Keyboard.

I will wait for Episode 5 and then i shall Buy the DVD 5 Chapter Games.

    Anymore TOMI after Chapter 5.

Well, if you buy the season now, then you'll be able to get the DVD at the end of the season anyways.

And, as for now, there's nothing planned. Or so we know...

They're sort of both. Some of the older Telltale games were point and click, but that limited them technologically and artistically in that the ground had to be visible in every single shot, so they implemented two movement options for Tales. You can either use WASD/the arrow buttons to move or you can "click and drag", which is where you hold the mouse button down and move the mouse in the direction you want Guybrush to go. It all works out pretty well, and you still interact with people and objects by point and click.

By waiting, you're only hurting yourself. If you purchase the season now, you get the DVD when it's released for the cost of shipping. You pay the same amount and still get the DVD in the end, but you get to play the game now instead of waiting for them to get the DVD out in Q1 next year.

And no, chapter 5 is the end of the season, so the only way we see more Monkey Island from Telltale is if they do a season 2, which depends on a few factors, like what other games they need to work on and whether or not LucasArts licenses it to them for a season 2. But we're all hoping.

A Patch to fix Game Crashes like so many these days. :p

So far Telltale games have been OK for me. The don't really crash - the only time the did for me was Wallace and Gromit when I put the graphics settings too high. None of the other games like Strong Bad, Tales of Monkey Island or Sam and Max have ever crashed on me. But now I have a new PC so I don't expect any of them to crash any more. I think it was just the old PC and not the games.

I haven't seen them release separate patches for anything. There was an issue with Tales of Monkey Island chapter 2 I think where the voices sounded really bad quality and what they did to fix it was just upload a new bigger version of the game and all people had to do was just download it again. Once you've paid for it once, you can just keep downloading it again and again when you need to from your Telltale account page.

A lot of your questions can be answered here, and you can also try the demo if you want to try the game out.

You only need to be online to activate each chapter the first time you play.

You do need to be online for the trasure hunt, but thats not really part of the game itself.

And yes, Murray is in Chapter 3.

Im curious about the End of MI2 where Guybrush and Lechuck ended up as Brothers (Little Boys) in a Carnaval and then in MI3, we see Guybrush floating in the Ocean on a Cart, what happend between the Games.

In MI3, there was a Scene Cut near the End of the Game, did i miss something.

How or where would you place the 5 Part Series "Tales Of Monkey Island" and will there be a Monkey Island 5 in witch it will Hopefully reveal the Secret of Monkey Island.

They've already said that TOMI fits as Monkey Island 5. The official Monkey Island 5.

In Curse, when LeChuck captures you again at the theme park, you can have a nice, loooonnng, expository chat with him.

When Guybrush walked out into the Big Whoop carnival at the end of MI2, he was under the influence of a curse LeChuck put on him, and he was really at the Carnival of the Damned on Monkey Island. The reason he's floating in a bumper car at the start of Curse is because he finally managed to escape the Carnival of the Damned somehow. From a statement made by Stan in Tales (about how long he spent locked in his own coffin), we now know it took him about three months to escape the carnival.

As for Tales, it takes place an unspecified amount of time (I'm estimating ~5-10 years) after Escape.
