Hint Needed - - - Monkey Island 2 (slight spoilers)

Hello,

I have completed the Voodoo doll & chased Largo off of Scabb Island. I (finally) found the string and was able to complete the Rat trap and get enough pieces of eight to charter Dread's ship....

... but for the life of me I cannot find his "eye that has seen the world" amulet and honestly I'm not sure that's even the right path to follow. I left that amulet back in the first game on Monkey Island or something....

If possible, can someone gently guide or hint me to the solution ? I've been racking my brains but I have nothing even remotely like an "eye that has seen the world" amulet.

    Have you seen anyone who wears something over one of their eyes?

    mmm... you don't get his amulet, but you can get something that would replace it. that's a first level hint.

    Here's your answer but use it only if you really cant find it
    Take the eyeglass from Wally, wait until he leaves it in the table

    Bobbin pretty much gave it up with his hint.

    But.... what sense does that make ? He wanted his amulet or at least something similar... But instead he wants a monocle ?! I don't get it.
