Pete & Pete

edited December 2009 in General Chat
Damn I miss that show. Surely I am not the only one right?

It just screams of an era gone by…. an era that lives in each & every child of the nineties' heart… an era that just seemed so much brighter & so much better than today's world with it's craptastic television & way of living in general…. Damn I miss the nineties.

I really wish that they would put it back on air. Maybe make a Nick classics station similar to Boomarang…. yeah…. that would be AWESOME!!!

What are your thoughts?

PS… If Anybody can tell me where I can watch it online, I will become there best friend (Well besides Youtube of course. Viacom ruined that for us… I mean they don't even air half of the crap that they take down anymore, so why ruin for us that want to see the classics?).

I remember watching this show. I remember and episode where they formed a group called 'the nightcrawlers' and tried to never go to sleep. It was a pretty funny show.

Those were also the days of Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, remember. Pete & Pete was pure innocence by comparison.

i know what others were on...they were all kinda bad when you think about it

I mean compare that to the trash on today...

Nothing remotely offensive gets by. I mean just watch those BS shows that they claim are for teens. iCarly? True Jackson? NAKED BROTHER'S BAND!?!?!?!?

    Holy Shit!!!!

The sad thing is that people can't understand why I wish it was th 90's again. I mean EVERYTHING was better. Life sucks now & so does tv.

I miss Pete and Pete! My 13-year-old-self had the biggest crush on Danny Tamberelli, who played Little Pete when he was younger. It's rather amazing to go back and see that some shows we watched as a kid were truly quality.

Oh, and singing the Salute Your Shorts theme song and seeing how many people join in.

Holy Crap!!!! I thought you were a guy!!!!!

You do know he is the lead singer of a band know right? Surprisingly they are actually pretty damn good (well depending on your taste).

Here is a link to there Myspace account (try listening to "Who Hates the Office".... That song is killer) http://www.myspace.com/jounce

That was a fantastic show. But it was retro by the time I watched it in the late nineties.

I googled it and found heaps of links for the show, it shouldn't be hard to watch online. It's harder to watch old stuff though, it's not as popular as Anime, so you won't find it streamed anywhere.

Gah tomorrow afternoon. Now theres no point getting up at 3AM again. But I might again for the heck of it.

    Anyway.

It was a really good show, but the actors got too old, it got out as many episodes as it could. It'll probably jump to 111 Hits pretty soon, that's my guess.

Best Nick show to date. It was so childish but yet so serious about it, I loved it.

Kids shows these days are definitely as good as they were back then.

I think most of this talk of the 90s being better is just nostalgia, but NOT when it comes to Pete & Pete.

I have always said & always will say that the Pete & Pete intro is by far the best intro in television history.

PS. Am I the only one who had a crush on Ellen?

Not really. The intro is a friggin music video. The song is good, the video is funny if you get the in jokes & can you name me another intro that people regard as higly as the show itself?

    Watch the opening again. Carefully.
  • edited December 2009
The opening is allright, but it's nothing special. I don't remember liking it any more when I was a kid either. The show was good though, but the opening is meh at best.

I couldn't stand this show, even as a kid.

Big Pete is one of my old friend's cousin. He's a freakin' character. He came to a concert once at BB KIngs in NYC wearing a hat with ear flaps and bomber jacket- It was perfect.

Even better was that my friend Bill had left a bag at his house, so Mike (Big Pete) came to my job in Brooklyn to drop it off. My boss nearly shit her pants. That was my whirlwind dance with Big Pete.

P.S. I still have his phone number and he has been pranked like 200 hundred times while inebriated. ha

Pete & Pete! Great Show, kudos for the topic. You guy know that snow day was supposed to be a pete & pete movie? And it seems like Viscardi and McRobb are made a new show: http://www.imdb.de/title/tt1101250/. Anyone saw it?

I don't know if kids' shows now are really that much worse than kids' shows then (since I don't really watch them, mostly because they do look stupid to me, but still), but I do love how they felt like they could mess with kids' heads a little back then. I hardly ever understood what was going on in Pete and Pete, but I loved watching it because it felt like I was staring directly into somebody's subconscious.

Is this the show? You can watch the first three seasons of it on here.

Never watched a ton of it, but I might have caught a few episodes here and here back when.

"Can you settle to shoot me? Or have you picked your target yet?"

One of my favorite theme songs back then.
