Meeting and old friend?

Although he says they have never meet before, Guybrush keep saying he looks familiar to him.
Is the ferryman the same ferryman we met in CMI? He certainly looks like him.

Just when I saw him, i thought " oh my god, THAT IS THE Lost Welshman", then Guybrush said he was familiar and all, but we didnt have confirmation.

I thought it was a reference to the fact that the ferryman kept saying aye to everything, a lot like a certain pirate wearing a badge back in the Scumm bar in SoMI...

I suppose he could be either the Lost Welshman or the Scumm Bar pirate. They could have died sometime since we last saw them.

I don't think he'd say LOOK if it was because of the way he talked. But I think it's obvious he was referring to the lost welshman from CMI. But the way he speaks could be a less obvious reference to Secret. So, the whole character is kind of a reference to two different characters in two different games.

I, too, thought it was that "Ask me about Loom" guy, but later then I realized that it would be totally pointless. I never played Curse or Escape, so it may be referencing something in those games.

On the basis that neither have a Welsh accent of any discernability, sure!

Personally, I thought he was meant to be the Loom guy.

Besides "Aye", there is no similarities. I highly doubt it.
