Futurama and Telltale
I saw across the boards that a lot of people liked LeChuck's comical line about hurting his spirit in Rise of the Pirate God.
Not to accuse Telltale writers of biting, but this is almost the same line spoken by Old Man Waterfall in the episode "A Taste of Freedom." A nod perhaps?
When I heard this, I got to thinking telltale could do a great deal with Futurama. Most people who played the Futurama game will tell you how disappointing it was. But imagine the adventure genre and Futurama, it seems perfect.
It allows the the blending of all the creativeness of a game like The Dig with the comedic genius of the show itself. I actually loved The Dig, but I see nothing wrong with reworking that formula with a lot of humor.
Considering the sheer breadth of Futurama's universe, and its coming revival, it seems like a good franchise for telltale to consider.
Any takers?

okay, i'm sold. but only if they get the original voice cast.
Oh for sure- what would be the point of making it without Billy West and the gang? They did their voices for the first game, and it was quite good. You can actually watch all the in game cutscenes on the "Beast with a Billion Backs" DVD.
I think if they did in in the way they did SBCG4AP then it would look great.
YAY Telltale should do some Futurama games!!!
Would be perfect, episodic, style, voice actors, etc, etc.
Please do it. lol.
...well, nothing, necessarily. :P
Alternatively, get the DVD of 'The Beast with a Billion Backs', which has all the cutscenes spliced together to form what they call 'The Lost Episode'. It cuts a couple of the funniest jokes out, but it's still pretty funny.
sure about that?
Though with how they've handled Sam and Max (Who's humor is more offbeat than Futurama, but not as confusing), I think it's *possible* for them to do a futurama game, however it woudl be notable harder, imo, to get it "right" while still making it both easy enough for beginners and advanced enough for players, while not falling into the trap of needing to know a lot about the show or about the series' it references.
As For cell-shading, I have no problem with it, it woudl give it a nice animated feel that could do the series justice and make it feel just like watching it on TV (I would say "being there" but since it's futurama, that would just seem wierd )
I'd say tred lightly but if anyone can do it, it would be telltale.
They're exactly as human as any of the humans in Futurama, so...
