"Our Telltale Heart"

edited December 2009 in General Chat
Maybe there's a reason why Telltale posted this on facebook and not the website or forums yet, but it's been more than 12 hours now. But I wanted to say, Telltale, you guys are just so sweet. But still edgy. (Who else makes Edgar Alan Poe references for the holidays?)

It does surprise me that I haven't seen this anywhere else. You would think they would post this on their front page to get a bit more exposure.

It's true, their Facebook fans already think they're pretty awesome.

There actually is a forum for this, but it appears to be invisible at the moment. It's perfectly accessible from the above linked page ("Forum" button in the middle of the page).

I would link directly, but I don't know if I should, since they haven't made it visible yet.

This is cool! Why on earth is this not on the webpage/blog/Interloper/bus stop near my office?

Come on - we already know you're awesome, you might as well brag about it!

Is the "telltale heart" forum appearing under the general forum for anybody else? I can see it there now.

Go ask questions people! Like, "When are you likely to release a trailer for S&M season 3?" maybe.

What I REALLY want to know is whether ants can tell the difference between regular Coke and diet Coke. But I'd actually kind of like to do the experiment myself to find out.

You got a question, I got ants. Let's get scientific.

    Doesn't artificial sugar kill insects?

    Woo! What a team. :p

I suppose you could take a survey of your ant population? But if all your ants are rude snobs, put out an ant-accessible pool of regular Coke and an ant-accessible pool of Diet Coke, equidistant from the ant motherland if possible. Wait a few hours and see which one attracts more little foragers to its sugary (or not) goodness.

I have absolutely no idea! Would they eat it anyway?

We may not get ethics approval for this now. :(

EDIT: I will donate $10 to the Telltale Heart campaign if someone actually does this.

Supposedly, yeah. The gardening column in the Chronicle suggested using it as an insecticide that won't hurt your plants or other wildlife. Then again it's a gardening column in the Chronicle ...

Even better... you could experiment to find out if your garden's ant population could develop the capability to distinguish regular Coke from diet Coke!

I think the more important question here is whether they prefer Coke or Pepsi. That, is the great Question of our Times.

AND can their preference be influenced by advertising?

If that doesn't deserve an NSF grant, I don't know what does!
