Torchlight

Torchlight - I'm thinking about buying it due to a good review in Atomic and some promising looking trailers. Is this a good game, is it too similar to Diablo, is it worth buying for $20?

It's like a largely improved version of Diablo. If your into Diablo, you should get Torchlight. The only thing it's missing is co-op but in around 18 months they'll be releasing a free-to-play mmo version.

Thanks for the reply! I've actually just started playing Diablo II in the last couple of days and have highly enjoyed it so I guess I'll buy Torchlight once I'm finished. Just looking at screenshots and gameplay videos, the artwork it Torchlight is very nice, the game would almost be worth buying just to explore the world!

Torchlight is a good choice (fun and has great style), but you may want to wait around until Christmas to see if Steam or anyplace has it on sale. Another great game for someone who likes Diablo II is Titan Quest.

I think it's already for sale on steam.

Titan Quest also looks really good, high quality graphics and many strange creatures which I like! Geez I'm gonna have to make a list :)!

By the way, has Blizzard given any indication on when Diablo III will be released?

The earliest I have heard is 2010... but that means it will most likely be 2011 or 2012.

By "on sale", I meant a special deal like 50% off or something. Sorry for the confusion. Does Steam often have discounts on its items in Australia like it does here in the US?

Yeah, I heard somewhere that 2011 was the likely year of release.

No problem, that's a good suggestion though, I will wait a while to see if Steam do put a discount on it. By the looks of it, Steam do apply discounts in Australia.
