Ah, i love Smash bros. Probably my most played N64 game, and definately my most played wii game. We've had Smash 64 on the VC for a while now in europe (which makes a change). Who's your main? I personally main as Cpt.Falcon on the N64.

Depends on what game. If it is brawl, than Sonic. If it is the 64 and melee version, it is Luigi(or mario if I haven't unlocked him yet)

Mine varies per iteration aswell. It's Cpt. Falcon in Smash64 and Toon Link/marth in Brawl. I can't remember what it was in melee (i lent it to someone, who then moved half way across the country ¬_¬), but i think it was normal link.

It's easily Pikachu in the original Smash Bros. That downward strike of lightning from the sky is such an amazingly versatile move, and I love Pikachu's speed. Kirby's a close second, with tons of versatility, great jumping ability, and a useful up-special.

Melee, it's Mewtwo. Shut up, Mewtwo is awesome. Mewtwo is badass. Mewtwo is the coolest thing around. Mewtwo can throw you across the room without even touching you.

Brawl, it's Sonic. Because I again love the speed, and I love Sonic. While he's difficult to master, he has a TON of moves that all start out looking the same, which really works to your advantage in terms of your opponent knowing what is coming next. He has one of the best jumps in the game, next to Pit who is my second.

Hey you have the same stragety on Brawl as mine, go fast and avoid pain(the exact opposite of my friend's stragety which is be Ike and endure all the pain, which is a terrible stamina mode stragety)
Also don't worry, Mewtwo is my favorite melee too, along with Luigi, infact, I wish he appeared instead of Lucario in Brawl. I never understood why he became a "terrible character"

We should hold a funeral service for Jake, because I'm sure that after posting that video he's a dead man.

It's all about Marth. Or Link if it's N64. I pwn with all of them. Sonic is a nice side character as well. As is Mr. Game & Watch. My brother and I have great 6-stock battles with no items on Final Destination from time to time between Marth and Roy or Marth and Ike. Great times. Great news that the N64 version is finally on VC!

Speaking of SSB, anyone try the fanmade Brawl+ that launches the game with custom settings and "balances out gameplay?"

Never heard of it. Any good?

Anyway, we should set up a brawl match/tournament sometime (@thread in general). Would anyone be interested in taking part? I'm not sure what cross-continental lag would be like though.

It's decent. A list of all the changes are on the website. http://brawlplus.net/

There's also an ability to alter textures (spawning a whole community of people who are creating custom textures now) and also the equally impressive ability to have custom soundtracks (something I'm only beginning to take advantage of but works rather well!).

Haven't played Brawl, but o-ho-ho I'm deadly curious. Just because of Sonic.

The first Smash Bros was, classic. Speed's my choice, so I always played it with Pikachu.

yeah, he is one of the best characters and defenently the best for the speed stragety(duh) although it is sad that he barely appeared in the story mode(subspace emersarry) just right before the FINAL boss was his first and only appearence.

Are you kidding? Captain Falcon is the fastest.

That's because he was added as an afterthought and didn't get the attention he deserved. His playing stage is also probably the worst in the game. Very small. Can't really put his speed to much use. Perfect selection of music, though. They could have put in a couple other themes instead of doing mostly title themea for almost every game he's ever been in.

If you play as Sonic with the bunny ears item on the Melee stage Big Blue you can actually outrun the cars and kill yourself by moving too far to the right.
