I randomly play a month or two of World of Warcraft. It gets old fast though. All I do is "go to place A, kill 10 of B, collect 5 of C, then bring them back here" Basically I get sick of it, then over time I get "un-sick" of it and play it again for a bit untill I get sick again... Though I admit a good guild makes it a lot more fun and tollerable, I *almost* renewed my subscription last itme because of that .
Played Dungeons and Dragons Online. Lots of fun, much better than WoW because it includes puzzles to make you think. The "newness" hasnt worn off either, but already I'm starting to see limitations of the small island in the free version...
Also spent some time on Guild Wars (boring and too easy), Planeshift (fun, but still exparimental so they wipe chars randomly and it gets frustrating, not to mention only a few quests/areas/etc), Runescape (graphics are really bad and the game gets too simple at times - though the best of the free ones by far) Lastly, signed up for Earth Eternal but havnt played it yet.
I've also done some time on Second Life but my current video card hates it so I dont play right now.
I too think this may be a really fun thread. It's just that... you know, I kinda fear a guy might have opened this thread just the know the most famous free MMORPG so that he can open up a site that sells the in-game currency of it for real money.
Anyway, I played some free MMORPGs but none of them entertained me as much as Fly For Fun. It's kinda childish and girly but... Awh to hell, real men wear pink.
I used to play Roblox a long time ago, it is a game very similar to little big planet. You create your own levels and play on other levels. It was really fun, but I just got bored eventually.
