those guys (from germany btw) are truly awesome, just saw them live in concert last week in zurich/switzerland :)

    The lyrics and theme are awesome. I don't like this kind of music though, unfortunatly.

    My thoughts exactly - pitch the vocals up by at least an octave so you can understand them and throw out most of the waaay-to-distorted guitar...

    Huh, I would say up the speed of the guitarparts, and hire a WAY more grunch (? I had the proper word in my head until making this post, damnit!) lead singer, cause this doesn't sound piratish.

    But that may be my musical preferences.

    i think so ;) i like it a lot.

    orden ogan is just true (melodic power) metal, not nu metal or crossover stuff that has little do to with real metal :p not sayin that there's anything wrong with that ;) just different preferences.

    maybe that's not the typical style american guys are used to listen, but it's very popular in europe :cool: although also here it's surely not something which will make it into the (shallow mainstream) charts.

    so of course if you don't like true metal, you won't like orden ogan ^^

    Great lyrics but I don't like the kind of music either.
    Here's another great pirate song: I could'nt find an original version on youtube so: some Pirates of the Carribbean scenes with the great song Black Flag Flying. :D enjoy!

    True - but if you want to be 17th century authentic you can't use electric guitar anyway... :D

    Something akin to Jah Wobble & The Invaders of the Heart's "English Roots Music" (yes, I do love that album - why do you ask?) probably fits a lot better...

    (As for metal - well, we have a steel mill around here; that's the ideal resting place for metal as far as I'm concerned... :D)

    Great song, although I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much without the video accompanying it. The lyrics are obviously inspired by Monkey Island, but that's about the only similarity I could find - except that the video seems to take place at "The Scum Bar". :) Thanks for the tip, darko. I just looked up the band on Spotify and I like it.

    it's not within the "true" metal genre - as defined by the gods of manowar *gg* - but surely i would consider it very real metal :D not than i'm an expert or something ;) actually i don't take all that genre discussion very serious, i like many different styles. you can find shitty and great music equally in most genres ^^
