Left 4 Dead

edited January 2010 in General Chat
So I couldn't find another thread about this, which is weird, because I actually really like Left 4 Dead.
I just recently started playing and I'm hooked. Has anyone else played Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2? Do you guys like it?
You wanna play together? :P

I used to play the first back at my friend's house and it was pretty cool because we had LAN parties all the time. I didn't own it though, but my friend did nag me to get it so I could join in with her other friends to play. (nobody else I knew played, which was strange because a lot of my friends are regular Team Fortress 2 players)

Of course, I waited until the second came out and I was planning to get it, but apparently the only friend I could actually play it with got a job at Disney World so she was much too busy to actually play the game at all.

So yeah, long story short, I don't have it. :'(

I got it for Christmas and then had nightmares about running out of ammo.

I enjoy it a lot but I'm rather bad at shooters, and the characters turn around and yell at you when you accidentally shoot them.

In short, it's an awesome game.

Yeah, I have horrible aim in that game. I'm always the lowest ranked when it comes to shooting the most infected.
Believe it or not, my aim is even worse in real life.

 You ... you've accidentally shot a person in real life? Okay, your new nickname is officially "Dick Cheney".

I've never played it, but Red Fraggle worked on it so I love it for that fact alone. I have a weird sense of humour.

I've got the first one. I played it for a while, but it sort of got a bit stale after awhile. I can't keep up regular play for as long as I can with other Valve MP games like Day of Defeat: Source (my current MP fix) and TF2.

I never got the second one. I don't have the money to spare for an over-priced expansion pack, no matter how good it might be.

    No, I missed on accident.
    (Just kidding)
By "aim", I was actually referring to anything that requires hand-eye coordination. Basketball is one example. Cooking is another (trust me, don't ask me to make your dinner).

    Y'know, just because it's called a Salad "Shooter"... :p

But yeah. L4D. Love it. Love the sequel even more. Nothing like going crazy with a katana in the middle of a horde. :D

So I can't call you "Dick Cheney"? How about "Lon Chaney"?

And at least you can walk without tripping. My hand-eye coordination is fine, but I never watch where I'm going so I constantly knock things off tables or smack my hand against a chair or don't see a step. I've even walked into a door a few times. My cooking's fine though.

-Facepalm- Lame pun is lame. :)
PM me your name online (if you have one) and we can play some time, if you want to.

EDIT: And Lena, I trip at least twice a day and my toes are almost always swollen from stubbing them. It doesn't help that I wear flip-flops all the time when it's not freezing.

Once I own a copy/replace my headset (I'm not fond of playing team-based games without one), I'll take you up on that.

Well, okay, then ... you're ... moe! Just wear your hair in pigtails either side of your face and get some big ass glasses and blam! You'll be having geeky fanboys eating out of your hands.

I picked up the first game very cheap months after it came out, I actually wanted to play it because I liked the "Everybody Loves Francis" parts on The Idiot Box, so yeah, this is another game I ended up playing due to an Internet Meme!

I like the game a lot, it's really fun, but it is quite short, you can blast through the 4 Campaigns in one night and then you're left with either going after a load of little goals or download the DLC for the extra campaign!

What the heck IS L4D anyway? owo
  • edited January 2010
It's a game about 4 people who managed to be the only survivors of an infection that swarmed their city (or town or something). The infection caused everyone except them to turn into zombies. You get to play as one of the four characters, and while the other three help you, kick some zombie butt with the use of powerful guns just to get to the rescue point. Lots of blood. Lots of nightmare fuel.

    It's a co-op multiplay game. Don't expect much story.

I picked it up in the Steam sale, it's great!

I have both, and I see the sequel as different enough to be it's own game and not just a glorified expansion pack like some people say.

It's one of my favourite games, but I'm a bit burned out on it since people keep asking me to play. I had to keep putting myself into offline mode when I got Sam and Max in the sales just so I could play it without someone asking me to play L4D2!

I love Left 4 Dead! Consider that Steam group as good as joined. I mostly play Campaign mode a lot since its the easiest to jump into with random strangers.

I waited until the sequel went on sale before I got it. :D I like wailing on zombies with machetes and crowbars the most. I even killed a tank with a crowbar once!... of course, he had me cornered and almost incapped by the time he died, though.

played the 1st on on the 360 but I never really got that into it, mainly because I'm pretty rubbish at most FPS games plus I don't play online much (except sports game, FIFA & NHL specifically) and so it's just about wasted on me.

I play both quite often on the PC. Mainly with friends though. Randomers are just intolerable most of the time.
