A Special RIP for a Friend

I'm sorry to bring this up on you guys.

If you know what pixel bases are, you know they're nude and bald pixel drawings of people that are of free use to edit and use them to draw a character on.

A girl on deviantART, user CherryPrincessAngel, made bases with premade clothing on them, and this earned her a troll, who made an account under the name of "CheriPurinsesuAngeru" JUST to make fun of her. Friends of Cherry have been battling this troll for a while now.

Recently, Cherry's account was deactivated.

We all thought it was because she couldn't stand the troll anymore.

We were wrong.

Cherry is dead.

She was hit by a large delivery truck apparently, her friend made a journal telling what happened. She said nothing more on the cause, but if I had to guess, I'd say she must have been hit pretty hard and suffered a fatal head injury.

I didn't know Cherry very well at all, in fact, I was one of the people who disliked the fact that all of her bases had premade clothing on them, but I wasn't rude about it, I stated that I was simply against all of her bases having clohing on them and asked if I could make nude edits of them.

Anyway, I say here on this forum that probably nobody will care, but I really want to make it clear that I might have been rude to her, not meaning to, and I want to repent for that.

Rest in peace, Cherry. I promise you I will bash taht troll's head in until they beg on their knees for mercy. You didn't deserve to die, not at such a young age.

I apologize if I was ever rude to you, I never meant to be, and to think that your troller is probably going to dance on your grave makes me wish I had a meat cleaver sometimes.

I pay my respects to you. Since I didn't know you that well, I can't bring myself to cry, but I can't scream in joy either. I've sulked through my house since I found out, and swore at the troll under my breath. I'm not sure what to do to make up for not being able to cry, but I honor your memory.

Rest in loving peace, Hannah. [AKA Ruru-chan]

Dude, I feel for you, I lost a couple of friends during the Winter of 2008-2009, both in separate car crashes and they were both 19. It's absolutely a horrible feeling, I can't really offer anything to say but take it one day at a time, it will get easier.

For me everything just felt weird, melancholy is an appropriate word, not quite depressed, but everything felt pointless and irrelevant.

It's always a horrible thing. I hope you get through it OK.

You, my friend, are a magnet of misfortune.
I didn't know Cherry, nor had I ever heard of her before today, but I also hope she rests peacefully.

Well, I'm probably going to sound like a jerk here and since I really don't have any definitive proof I'll say right away: my condolences if it's real.

However, I reckon this claimed death is most likely fake. I checked out the troll account and it doesn't add up. For one thing, her friend claims to have deactivated her account when she died, the troll mentions her account was deactivated yesterday according to the date. Now her friend's page mentions the incident (which sounds way too far-fetched I'm sorry to say) which could have easily happened yesterday or whatever when her account was deactivated, however if you'll notice on that same date, her friend is making cheerful replies to his/her commenters on their page. I really, really doubt anyone who just witnessed their friend getting hit by a truck would be on Deviantart the same day being all cheerful. In fact, I'm sure they would need some INTENSIVE therapy.

Yes, trolls can be pretty bad, (though there's really no reason to make death threats at ANYONE) but fake internet deaths are terrible too. I've witnessed and helped solve a lot of fake deaths back in my livejournal days, so yeah, not trying to be a big jerk here, just helping you so you won't be upset at something that probably isn't real.

If she really died, then that's pretty sad. I feel sorry for you and her friends.

Having said that, it wasn't the troll's fault. The troll was most likely having some light hearted fun - 99% of the time, these things aren't malicious. It's easy for one username to make fun of another, and you don't have to be a bad person to do it. It's very different from real life bullying - sure, the consequences are the same, but there's no moral block in our heads telling us not to make fun of what, fundamentally, feel like words on a monitor. The troll couldn't see her face or hear her voice, so it was easy for him to make fun of her. He must feel just as bad that she's dead as you do, probably worse (a little guilty, I'd guess). Taking vengeance on the troll isn't going to help anything, it's just going to make the whole thing worse. You're gonna troll the troll, who's gonna troll you back, and so on and so forth into the endless troll oblivion of trollness. Remember: an eye for an eye makes the world blind; violence breeds violence, etc.

My condolences if it's real but... did we really need to know about this? It's sad but I'm not sure anyone here would have known this person personally, and if they did they would already know.

It just seems a little... morbid.

Our condolences, but perhaps this isn't the place to be discussing it. The internet can be a harsh mistress and we'd rather not open ourselves up to inappropriate behavior should it occur.
